I would love a version of this without the text in the first two panels.

I must be missing the joke or something, is the guy in panel three an important character of one of the series? I got the he's getting the missions from the pigeons, but it kind of falls short. Also I have no idea what that black needle shaped thing is pointing towards the same guy's neck. Maybe it's to show where the assassin's eyes are looking, but I can figure that out just by the way his head is tilted so it seems unnecessary.

It falls short for you because you obviously haven't played the game.
PA comics are frequently done in a manner that if you don't have experience with the subject matter it won't make sense to you.
And that's the way it's always been.
It is known.

I guess? I've played all the creeds up until 3, and I mean are 3/4 that much different? I thought common opinion pointed to the contrary. And I do remember the pigeon joke being done before like the first reply mentions.
Oh! Okay, now I see it. Not showing the right hand threw me through a loop. I think if he pushed the handle toward the Spaniard a couple pixels and then colored in the space between the handle and the face with the skin color instead of the sky color, I might have read it better.

You douche. :<
Relax, I was just giving some criticism, I didn't mean to tear it down. I honestly had no idea what the sword actually was.
Once again, didn't mean to insult, just came here to share opinions is all.
One of the ways to get side missions in Assassin's Creed is from pigeon roosts where messages are left telling you who to kill.
However, not knowing a secretive guild of assassins left the message would leave an observer to only see a man following the murderous bidding of some birds.

I always assumed that they were homing pigeons left by the assassin who commissioned the kill, so that they would know when somebody had picked up the contract.

On top of this, in AC4 the main character spends a long time not knowing who the fuck the Assassins are or really much of anything about them.
Which further compounds the weirdness of him just arbitrarily taking up the hobby of taking random assassination missions left at pigeon coops by...somebody.
Like it would have made sense to open those up after he made contact with the Assassins, but they're available pretty much from the start which begs a lot of questions.

But that might be me over-thinking things.
In AC4, they don't actually tell you you can take these Assassin contracts until like 6 hours after it's possible to do so. It's basically a fuckup of trying to hand-hold less than AC3, but then not providing any context at all for half the stuff you can do.

Holy crap that is the best.

I meant it in a playful way, I wasn't sure if you were being sarcastic or not.
