So, got a notification to make a chat while eating lunch at my desk.
I'm having chicken tenders -- they're pretty yummy.
What are you having for lunch?

This gif took forever to load fully, so at first I thought it was a meta gif due to being of a sloth and that there was legitimately a 10 second delay between each frame. And then it kicked in and I laughed at myself.
and it's the most confusing line of the damn verse!

So my thoughts for hearthstone now that I have been in the beta since October so I have a bit of a collection. Also sorry this is late, been applying to jobs between single games of hearthstone.
Most of my games not won or lost by legendaries. They help and it is a ccg so the bigger the collection the more options you have. But there have been a few of the high level players using the last ladder reset to show you can make decks with 100% free or common cards and get to legendary. The game is still very much on skill.
I actually lost 4 games in a row today, not common for me but my losses were mostly due to poor rng(draw and the god damn totems!) and misplays on my part. The rng won't ever go away this is a ccg and building your deck to minimize rng is important but some games your opponent draws all the answers and you draw 0.
My last game which I won is a great example of this. Also how legendaries do not win games.
I had board control he was low on cards. He drops a Deathwing wiping the board and he has no cards in his hand. I see the deathwing, drop equality(set all minions to 1 health) and then Tirion Fordring. This means Deathwing will hit my taunt, die and I still have a 6/6 as long as he doesn't draw a hex.
He drew a hex. Still deathwing has to hit the taunt saving me 12 damage. Next turn I hit deathwing with a card that reduces him to 1 attack(12/12 is now 1/1) and I proceed to keep my card and board advantage using free cards which win the game.
CCGs are partially based on what you own. Blizzard has been pretty good at balancing this so it is as much what you own as how you play it. It isn't perfect but I would say download it anyway and give it a try. You might have fun.
Do you.. do you play the maracas?
Almost all video game interfaces are haptic of some sort. I mean, mouses need to be touched to activate. Exceptions are things like the kinect, and all those weird Eye products.
The reason why my prof argued in favour of phone touchscreens (or all touchscreens really) being considered haptic (though not the same as haptic feedback) is because what you're touching isn't an abstraction for the data on-screen, but the interface for the screen itself.
i.e. with mouses you're moving the mouse cursor to a position on the screen, and clicking it. Your physical actions are separated from what happens on the screen by the controller. But with touchscreens, you're geting as close as you can, without actual manipulating physical/virtual identical objects (see the funky brick interfaces), to manipulating the interface with your fingers.
This was a while back, and she was a university lecturer, so it's entirely possible the argument was academic and her side of the HCI cabal did not win the argument (or maybe it's ongoing, who knows?)

Delicious lunch and Lego movie. Turn it into a date. With yo self.
Is that a person you know? Or just a thing you found?
with two options where both can be considered haptic but the quality is far more evident in one, calling only the other one haptic is misleading
she has a good point though, and I did mentally add "feedback" when it's not really what you were talking about anyway
May I suggest a fedora?
