I don't know. The narrative that people seem to try to push with Orion is that dude has a successful kickstarter, fires everyone, then the game gets like eight updates? How do you do that after firing everyone and running off with the money? Granted I haven't looked too deeply into this but that seems to be the sequence of events people are pushing.

There was also evidence about the game plagiarizing models and such from other games.
I need more friends. Just a warning, I should be sending tons of invites later today.
Getting into Steam is going to be a problem for me. :P
I too need more friends! There's tons of folks here not on my friends list. I'll probably be sending out some requests later as well. Monaco is no fun alone!

So far it just seems like a bunch of nonsense back and forth. As far as I know no one has taken any kind of action. Serious issues like the ones thrown around usually wind up in court when business is involved. Maybe the guy is an asshole but it seems to me that it's really nothing but a lot of noise. If he was really stealing from people they should be pursuing some kind of action against him. Other than that, maybe he's an asshole. Well, the world is full of assholes.
Woah! @HyphyKezzy just dropped a copy of Drox Operative in my inbox! Thanks! This game was at the top of my wishlist, and I'm super excited to give it a spin.
I just finished season three of Game of Thrones and I needed something to cheer me up, so the gift was certainly well timed
Managed to make it through A New Beginning, AKA Typos and Directionless Voice Acting: The game. First Daedalic game I've played, doesn't really get me excited about the others I have.

It was a mod at the start of it all, with free modders doing the work. The project lead said "Lets do a KS!" and just as the money comes in fires everybody, and delivers a shockingly broken product.
It probably was illegal but verbal promises of payment are hard to prove.
It was definitely incredibly scummy to both the modders and the people who paid for the KS.
I'm also fairly sure that the guy who traced models from other games more or less admitted to it.
Edit:
It is also still an amazingly bad game in every way. So even if it is just a dollar, it is still a wasted dollar that you are giving to an asshole.

Still, at just 1 measly dollar, I had to take a look at the trailer in the Steam Store. Where, scrolling down just slightly, I saw the ominous message, "You already own ORION: Dino Horde". Jesus. I hope I didn't give the asshole much money! Maybe someone else gifted it to me, so I didn't directly feed the asshole? Ahh well. I also see that I have 2 friends who want the game. Should I unfriend asshole-supporters/enablers?
On a side note, Guacamelee is just so much fun. I am really surprised that it's such a tight game, it does what it does very well. Unfortunately, many parts require actual skill, and over the past 3 years I've only been polishing my daddy/husband/son/breadwinner skills. Clearly, I need to evaluate and potentially adjust my priorities...

Booyeah! Finally got around to beating Bioshock Infinite. I accidentally skipped the after credits though, but youtube let me see what happened so no biggie.
But I seriously need to make space on my Hard drive. I mean I do have room for another game or two, but I really don't want to push it. So I'm thinking of skipping the Robin DLC for Arkham City so I can uninstall the game, even though I kind of want to play it. I might even uninstall Mass Effect 3 too, since I don't play online anymore.
If you mean the Robin Story DLC it's like maybe 3 hours long if you take your time with it. It's easy to knock out in one sitting in an hour and a half our so.
Really? I was expecting it to be longer. I guess I can knock it out next weekend. Thanks for the heads up

It's actually not bad to play with friends. It can be pretty hectic and fun, not bad for $0.99. And a quick google of the whole fired employees thing brings up a mess of different rumors and stories. I don't really know what's true and what isn't. Apparently 6 people were fired after the kickstarter. But none of the work they did was ever used in the game, and they were fired for trying to steal hardware or something like that.

I worked on a mod for this guy many years ago. I can tell you first-hand he's kind of sketchy. His very first mod started life as a Halo ripoff. He hasn't changed since. The game has definitely used art assets in advertising that aren't their own, and when they get called out for it they say these are just sample/test/target assets. Who knows whether those would've been replaced if they hadn't been called out?
Well now I can't get that image out of my head so thanks.

I'm trying real hard here but I'm just not giving a fuck about behind the scenes bullshit rumors and someone may be a something or other or whatever. Nobody gives a fuck that Gearbox stole tons of shit for Borderlands, it's game of the fucking year. Some weirdness goes on behind the scenes with a shitty videogame picked up for a buck on a lark and it's time for torches and pitchforks.

I also think it's shitty that Gearbox stole stuff for Borderlands
Am I the only one wishing (hoping?) that we start getting more of the old console games ported across to PC? I'm blaming the ports of Final Fantasy 7 & 8 (which are currently sat in my Steam folder mocking me with their inactivity - I blame Baldur's Gate for that!), plus a lot of reminiscing prompted by this revival in older style games (things like Aveyond etc), but I can't help feeling there is a massive untapped market out there, especially for old school RPGs and tactics games.
Basically, I think I just want to play Suikoden 1 & 2 (and games of that ilk) *grins*
It's all saltwater these days:
Ocean, tears and heartbreak soup
Half alive in a whitecap foam
Half in love with a white half moon
I bought the Prince of Persia trilogy, and to my dissapointment, the first one is poorly optimized. The resolution options are limited, and it won't let me use my gamepad.

Do you really think you're the only one wishing this? This is PC gaming. We want every damn game. Port begging is like the second requirement for entry behind ini editing.

The only thing holding me back from tossing my Xbox 360 is all my XBLA titles.

Also, if you like Shadow Complex, you need Strider in your life.

Final Fantasy VII and VIII aren't ports from the PS1, they're re-releases of the original PC versions. If your favorite console JRPG from the 90s didn't have a PC release, the odds of it hitting Steam are basically zero.
I'd love to see more tactical RPGs on Steam. I'd kill a man for a proper Front Mission (not a real time action game like Evolved) for the PC.

Been playing a lot of FFVII lately and all the FMV scenes have me nostalgic for that era.
