It was bad enough on the old site, when there was no context to the comic. I have no idea what this is related to, none of the terms relate to anything I'm familiar with. On the old site at least I could click a link to take me to another f'n page that may or may not have a breakdown of what the comic was about. C'mon put a label on the comic stating what book or game or whatever this is in relation to! And your leave a comment button is not working with no reason as to why!
The news post isn't always up at the same time as the strip, it's not that big of a deal... Just click the news link and it will take you to Jerry and Mike's posts. Why does it need the context of a book or game or whatever? It's a funny strip about a family of dark wizards. Most likely the product of a conversation they were having about something else.
Everyone has a price. Throw enough gold around and someone will risk disintegration.

A button to take you to the blog post appears as soon as there is a blog post to accompany the comic. It's the "txt" button next to the comic navigation buttons.
This is actually an improvement because before the button to take you to the news post was there regardless of whether the news post for the current comic had gone up yet, so it would just take you to the one for the comic before.

Is this referencing to something specific? I thought it was just generally riffing on the evil sorcerers you can find everywhere and understood it just fine. There aren't any "terms" in the comic that I didn't recognize.
I figured for sure this was inspired by a Magic card based on them going back to it recently, but apparently there isn't a card called Soul Flay. It is a Warlock spell in World of Warcraft, so this might have been inspired by Hearthstone.
Huh. Went back to re-read it after catching the newspost for today, and I just noticed that the Dadromancer's skull belt buckle appears to disappear between panels one and two. Perhaps it fell into the scrying pool?

Probably has a lot to do with Mike picking up some starter packs to play with his oldest, and being amazed while watching his son learn the more complex mechanics of it.

And apparently the comic is referencing "universal themes".
Tycho seems to be content with Thief. Like it's just there. It's just alright.
I wasn't convinced by various reviewers to pick it up. The mechanics are great, the story is "meh," there seems to be less focus on being a thief and more of being forced into a story. Now that it's out and the hype, wherever it was, is down, I don't think I felt too strongly about Thief. Off to see TotalBiscuit and see what he thinks.
Erasmus is also Tycho's father in the Rain Slick Precipice of Darkness series. Or one of the elder members of the family anyway.
It's kind of the joke that Tycho is raised in a family that dabbles in the occult.
I feel like the txt link shouldn’t be there. Like the text that goes with the comic should just appear as the First Post in the comments, and these comments right after that. Since that is what is usually being referred to.

Isn't it that everybody in the family line is Tycho E. Brahe, where the middle name starting with E changes? I couldn't remember if Tycho in the game was Tycho Erasmus or if that was another relative?
Not a pressing problem for me, since I can always check the "News" link at the top of the page, but I am not seeing a txt link anywhere around the comic, even after the relevant news post has gone up.

The top border thingy can cover it if you scroll down to center the comic on your screen. I actually just had that problem.
I can assure you that the context here is much more about parenting than it is about gaming. You may assume that this is any necromancer, in any universe - but more significantly he is a father, dealing with Dad problems... well, Necromantic Dad problems anyway.
Honestly this is one of my favorites in a long time. Instant desktop wallpaper. I may even print it out for the fridge.
Erasmus gets a bad rap. The scythe was not intended for soul flaying.
That may be, but keeping any of the greater cursed blades in a vault without child-proof warding is just asking for trouble; let alone the fruit of Erasmus's misguided foray into existential agriculture.

That did it. Also, I was looking next to the navigation arrows instead of the comic title. Thanks!

Funny, but would like to know the context.

...I love that song!
I believe so.
@MagnAxiom, @Fyrebaugh, I'm afraid this is user error/ignorance on your part.

There is one - the blog post just isn't posted yet
To clarify, Mike draws the comics in advance but Jerry usually writes the newspost for the comic of a day on the same day.

I really liked this one.
