Too many consoles, not enough time

This might seem like an odd request, but I want to discuss which consoles or handhelds I should get rid of. I know that most discussions are about PSP vs DS or 360 vs PS3, but I need to get rid of some of my options. Times sure have changed, when I was younger I would have killed to have all the latest consoles and games. Now I have them, but I don't have the time or desire to use them as much as I did before. Don't get me wrong, I still play about 4-8 hours a week, usually split between: PC , DS, 360, PSP, PS2 and Gamecube (in that order and not all in the same week or even month obviously) My backlog is ridiculous. Sometimes with all of these options I'd rather not play anything and it feels weird and wasteful.

So my idea was to seel off some of the excess and appreciate what I do have and make the most of it. For example, when going on a road trip I couldn't decide if I wanted to take the DS or PSP, but I didn't want to lug both so I didn't take any of them (kind of weird now that I look back). So, I want to make enjoying one of my favorite hobbies easier. I miss the days of having one system and not really needing anything else (although I probably thought I needed everything when I was younger)

I figure with my PC I can get all of my shooters and RTSes ( my two favorite genres when I'm at home) and my DS for some more laid back fun or when I'm not at home. What do you guys think? Are any of you in a similar spot?

PS I don't want to make it seem like this is some kind of crisis, I feel very lucky to be able to afford all the things I have.

So stop buying new games, and enjoy what you have. If you feel the need to play the hot new games go rent them.

I would say alternate and play until something is fun. When it begins to feel like a grind, just save, quit, and play something else. Time will fly and you will feel more satisfied about your games. If it really is bothering you that you have too many incomplete games, why not just put a freeze on new games for a month or so while tackling on your current selection with almost a professional attitude. It's working for me and Oblivion and getting those damn Oblivion Gates closed. :P

Well, I kind of have been doing that. I just think my biggest problem is that I have too many game systems. I own both portables and all the consoles. It's kind of ridiculous. I remember when i was a kid I had one console. I played 1 game on that one consoles until i was done with it and then I moved on to the next one. Now I have at least six. I was wondering what you guys thought about limiting the amount of systems I own as another tactic along with the don't buy anything new until you beat something.

I don't know, maybe it's just a game I'm trying to playing with my mind. I don't think I'm articulating this properly.
