North Jersey Living

I am in the process of negotiating for a new postion and will be working in North Jersey. I grew up and went to school in Central Jersey so I have an idea of nice places but north Jersey is a foreign place to me.

Looking for nice areas with good school districts. Are not going to be able to afford the super rich areas, but want a family friendly area as we havea 2.5 year old

Not sure if we will rent a little or try to buy.

Looking for some suggestions

Safe
Good Schools
Not too expensive (ha)
decent traffic
parks etc with walkable or bikable areas

I think most people who want those things live in Morris County. North Jersey is pretty big, though; where's the job and how far do you want to commute for it?

Job is in Montclair. Preferably under 30 minutes

try nutley? Pretty good schools, small town feel, 15 minutes from montclair.

and Lincoln Park where she lives is only 30 minutes away...

but in all seriousness, check out Parsippany/Lake Hiawatha

@mts A lot of Bergen County (Ridgewood, Waldwick, Wyckoff, etc.) is a really nice area. Safe, excellent public schools. Might be above your price range though?

Honeslty really not sure what our range is going to be. my salary is pretty much set, but it really depends on whether my wife can get a position or not.
