    okay so judging by how Ted Sallis would end up in the MCU he'd have to have gotten his attempts at the super soldier serum wrong, considering the whole amplifying what's there thing
    in the comics he didnt use radiation of any kind for his tests, and bonded with swamp muck as the serum took effect
    he lost his considerable intellect and speech, gained empathic powers, durability and strength, the ability to regenerate so long as he's in a swamp, and secretes chemicals that react to the human body experiencing fear with flame

    In the "Assembling a Universe" special it's hinted/implied/suggested that the serum also worked correctly on Blonsky, turning him into what he was at his core: a predator.

    I kinda hope in Age of Ultron they show when he starts to dismantle SHIELD one system at a time they Imply that The Leader uses the loss of their security to steal the location of Abomination and the stinger being he breaks Abomination out of cryo-stasis so we can have another Hulk movie of The Leader collecting Gamma Freaks to try and take over 'Merica!

    Basically it appears the brains behind the MCU are of the opinion that the serum worked correctly and turned Banner into Hulk because...at his core he was very angry about...something

    (I say "...something" because even though we have a history for him in the comics, in the MCU we really don't).

    In MCU...assuming parts of Ang Lee Hulk apply. It could be the abuse of his father has always left the part of him that hated being weak and unable to spare himself and his mother from his father's abuse.

    Yeah the incredible hulk didn't really go into Bruce's psychological issues, and tied the transformation to heart rate instead of emotion

    Avengers seemed to silently retcon that though, they didn't mention heart rate at all

    In MCU...assuming parts of Ang Lee Hulk apply. It could be the abuse of his father has always left the part of him that hated being weak and unable to spare himself and his mother from his father's abuse.

    Nothing of Ang Lee's hulk applies.
