Who is the Winter Soldier? (And other [Superhero Movies])
Posts
Loki was pretty good
Red Skull was okay if not great
and I mean there's been eight MCU films and a tv show, that isnt a great track record
Ultron could be so fantastic or he could be super dull.
If we could get a remake of it but with Mark Ruffalo instead of Edward Norton, that's probably a movie I would see
(on that note let's do more of what Incredible Hulk did with Lou Ferrigno in the MCU. Whenever Hulk says anything, have him be the one who says it)
roth should totally be a recurring actor
I thought the red skull was super weak actually
Loki is great, and I loved Hugo Weaving haming it up as the Red Skull. I also liked Ivan Vanko even though he was underutilized.
I'd say the weakest Villain so far is Malekith, that guy was just there so Thor could punch sombody.
Malekith was just super bland.
Is it because he didn't pull out the baby gambit?

I mean he was a credible threat at all times and I was able to keep up with his motivation in every scene
malekith was really the one that struck me as a totally generic bad guy who could have been replaced with anyone
And Loki was the villain in three of them.
SURPRISE I'M AN EVIL ARMS DEALER
well he wasn't exactly a villain in the dark world
I know what I said.
Ok... But suppose he had pulled a baby out of the wall to use as a hostage against Tony.

It could have been interesting to see them play up the idea that Tony wasn't really worthy of running Stark Industries, wining and dining around the world and generally just being worthless
They sort of hinted at it a bit with Stane's disdain towards Tony in the third act, but that being his primary motivator instead of "ALSO I SELL GUNS TO TERRORISTS" would have been neat.
So you're saying they shouldn't have any businessmen at all?
I did like Norton
I just like Ruffalo a lot more in that role
But yeah, Roth should totally come back around
I think that's exactly who the villain of iron man should be, because that's who tony was before he became iron man

Tony is very clearly a good-aligned businessperson
Like his motivation is SELL WEAPONS MAKE WAR MAKE PROFIT
I think (Iron Man 3 Spoilers)

He doesn't even work!
one thing i really liked about iron man 3 was
i thought it meant that marvel had the rights to man-thing, and it made me happy, because he's a perfect fit
he's a guy that experimented on the super soldier serum and it'd be perfect
NOPE, lionsgate owns the movie rights to him because of that godawful sci-fi movie, the one thing I liked about iron man 3 besides rhodey is no longer valid
disagree
The zeitgeist, I guess
In this day and age some of the most visible villains we as a culture can actually point to and say "these people are doing bad things" are corrupt amoral businessmen
No its way dumber then that. Basically theres 5 casts based on personality and function: The smart science people, the people who tend the fields and grow food, the crazy parkour police force, the people who "always tell the truth, even when you don't want them to" and a cast that lives in poverty and helps the needy and runs the government.
Basically, when you turn 16 you take an apatitude test to determine where you belong, but then the next day you get to decide. 90% of all people chose the caste of their birth but our main character doesn't really understand how to help people like her parents do and wants to be a fun jump cop. But when she takes her test
