The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
Kind of nuts, there's no patch or anything. Don't even have to log out. They're just flipping a switch and the new content will be available if you own the expansion.
I would hope it would go smoother, considering they learned a hard lesson last time around.

That's really impressive from a technical standpoint!
Yeah, there will be an in-game announcement and then you just go. I'm pretty much milling around waiting to kill Diablo again, and it'll just transition naturally into Act V.

Blizzard made that sort of architecture for WoW, since WoW expansions work where you have a BIG patch (2.0 or 3.0 or whatever) that you download which has a lot of the content in it already.
Do you guys remember about a month ago when I completely stopped posting here?
Yeah, someone mentioned Hearthstone in this thread and I checked it out and now I'm addicted to the point where that's all I do besides my responsibilities.
D3 is basically a different game now than from launch (other than the bad story). I'd give it a second shot, just to see if it clicks. They've made tremendous strides since Jay Wilson was moved to a different project.

Too little too late for me, personally. Also basically tired of the game.
But the fact that at launch they were basically like "Oh yeah, we just made up the numbers for the end game and didn't playtest it at all" and "PVP is coming really soon guys we swear!"
wait did they actually come out and say that they didn't playtest anything
I remember pretty distinctly them saying that they just set the numbers for the highest difficulty arbitrarily high, figured that the playerbase would solve it via smashing their heads against it, and didn't test it themselves.
Apparently Titanfall doubled the sales of Xbox Ones in the UK.
And no Infamous Second Son has doubled the sales of PS4s in the UK.
Basically, this generation is shaping up to be rad and with a healthy install base.
Well, the Infamous bundle was the only way to get a PS4 here without waiting until at least April. It's been on permanent back-order since launch with a 2-4 week wait, but they had stock set aside for Second Son. So it's selling, but there was a bottleneck of pre-orders built up.
And for the One, they put up a Titanfall bundle for pre-order that was £60 cheaper than the regular XB1 when they announced that price drop. So they doubled sales, after sales dried up because everyone was getting a Titanfall bundle.
I was still surpised to see both Second Son and Ground Zeroes outsell Titanfall this week though. I thought Titanfall would stay on top.

Blizzard basically exhausted what good will I had left for them with D3.
both of those positions are exaggerated, but the general shift in tone towards them feels accurate
Since then, D3 has gotten much better and hearthstone is a blast, if a game with serious issues

Maybe that was all a fever dream though.
