First, I usually go out on Sunday nights, and record the HBO shows. If I am planning to be home, I'll let you know this weekend. If I am home, you are welcome.

It's going to be a while after Sopranos finishes up that I'm going to be looking forward to much original programming on HBO... I mean, they've made no mention yet of the Carnivale miniseries, the Deadwood movie, Preacher's premier, the final season of The Wire, and Rome just finished up.

Who's got Showtime? I hear the Tudors is supposed to be pretty cool.

So far as I can tell, HBO is totally fucking horrible about announcing dates and such.

I don't have Showtime, but I dowloaded their program Dexter, and enjoyed that a lot.

From what I had heard, they were planning to make a miniseries (like two or three parts) and put it at a decent, but not complete stopping point - they were going to use the viewer ratings from that to determine if season #3 was a go or no-go.

I was expecting more from Carnivale.

I think they'd have been better off ending it after the first season than leaving it on a huge cliffhanger.

I am a little disappointed at Rome. There have been some pretty unbelievable situations, like the cart.

I agree that Rome looks amazing.

EDIT - the costumes and sets are wonderful, the acting is top notch. The lighting and general cinematography are stellar. I am disappointed in the writing. Not the dialog, but the actual events.
