Okay well I guess we have a thread to talk about Star Wars now. I feel like I should share the movies with my kids but I guess there are like a billion bad versions of it? And the original one is expensive?? I saw the original trilogy once when I was like nine and I don't know which version it was, but it seems like sharing Star Wars with your kids is an appropriate parenting maneuver.

find the despecialized editions
ignore the prequels completely
done
Look I get that people don't like them and I understand and agree with most of the reasons for it but I'm talking about my kids here, and I definitely remember enjoying the prequel trilogy when I was a young'un.
Can we not be shiity about how forumers look? Despite whatever self-image you hold in your head, you aren't inherently superior to anyone because of it.

How old are you that you can call yourself a "young'un" when you saw the prequel trilogy?

I can't tell if I came across more upset than I was or if I'm interpreting you as being more upset than you are or what. Communication via the internet is a tricky beast. Anyways I'm sorry if I seemed like a jerk and should probably not be posting while I'm feeling anxious.
I remember life before the prequels pretty well (I'd watched all the movies like ten times by the time I was six thanks to the special editions releasing) and I was only six when episode one dropped.

I am 24 . If memory serves I was about 16 when the third one came out.

episode 1 is not a very good movie for all the known ~reasons~ but it is still a movie I enjoy watching
Republic Commando is a bit more challenging than I remember.

Man, there is something about Star Wars main theme that draws the goofest grin to my face. I'm hoping the new film doesn't shy away from it like the Prequels did, though some of the Prequel stuff is great too.

I just looked this up, and the explanation is pretty damn convincing.
And you don't have to skip Phantom Menace, just treat it as more of an expanded universe thing. Something to watch afterwards if you just want more Star Wars.

Oh dear
Congratulations!
What can you tell us about being on the Star Wars set?
I had to get dyed brown to look like a wookie.
Now that I think back on it, it might have been super racist?
