A friend directed me to a website (omg plant) that instantly grabs a picture from any URL, hosts it on their own server, and then allows you to hotlink to your heart's content. Supposedly, it's not even a temporary cache. The image should be hosted permanently. All you have to do is toss a "http://imgred.com/" in front of the URL of the picture you're going to put in the BBcode.
For example:

You can go ahead an check my post to see it's the same address, just prefaced with the imgred part.
Now you can safely display pictures from Something Awful without worrying about scat porn hotlinking images.

you can just click onto your album and copy the link from there

You're completely missing the point.
I use photobucket all the time. I still will.
This shortcut is not so I have have my image macros and other stuff on hand to post whenever I want. It's to be able to quickly post a picture from tripod or something without having to bother to save it to my computer and then uploading it to photobucket. Also, it's a nice thing to do even for sites that don't have hotlink blocking becaues then you're not sucking up their bandwidth.

I copy the link to the picture. I click "ImageShack" on my bookmarks bar. I click the "URL" button, I paste in the url, and I hit submit. Then I copy the imageshack link and paste it

There is actually a prank you can do where you give this website your friends phone-number and e-mail and it gives you the ring video link to send to him. When he clicks it and finishes watching his phone will ring and a voice will say "7 days"
