Here's the thread, you know the drill. Upcoming movies
Iron Man: May 2nd

Apparently Marvel is getting into making movies themselves, but after selling off all the rights to the good heroes, this is all they're left with. So far, it seems they're more inspired by the modern "Civil War" take on the Iron Man character, with RDJ's Tony Stark being a complete dick in the trailer. Still, the special effects look neat. Rumors of this being to set up an Avengers film are almost certainly bullshit, don't be fooled guys.
Incredible Hulk: June 13th

Couldn't be worse, could it? Starring Fight Club alumni Edward Norton as Bruce Banner, this one looks like it'll take more inspiration from the 1970's TV show, with Bruce on the run, trying to find a cure. Main villain looks to be Russian Gamma Monster "the Abomination" so it'll be interesting to see how they handle his story given there's no more Cold War. Universal is producing this one, but rumors swirl of it tying into Iron Man in some way. Seriously guys, that's not happening.
Hellboy II: The Golden Army: July 11th

Follow up to the surprisingly good 2004 film, this one looks like it'll be a lot crazier with all sorts of disturbing Del Toro monsters. It looks based more on fairy tale fantasy, with insane takes on fairies, trolls and elves and a titular "Golden Army" of clockwork robots. Hellboy, Abe Sapien and Liz Sherman all look to be returning, but audience stand-in character John Meyers seems to have disappeared. A new character from the comics, Johann Krauss, the meek German psychic who's body was destroyed, leaving him stuck in a mechanic body, will be added to the cast, though given his character I easily can see him being pushed to the background given how soft-spoken and out of his element he is in the comics.
The Dark Knight: July 18th

Follow up to the well received 2005 reboot "Batman Begins" this movie follows Batman as he takes on new threat of the Joker, played by Heath Ledger. Movie looks crazy, but I'm not so sure about how this new interpretation of the Joker is going to play out. Harvey Dent, played by Aaron Eckhart, looks to be showing up in some capacity, but don't expect them to go full on two-face in this film.
Next year look for Watchmen, directed by Zach Snyder. Hugh Jackman returns to Fox for X-Men Origins: Wolverine. And Michael Bay returns to direct Transformers; Revenge of the Fallen, which can't possibly be worse than the original Transformers film, right guys?

I sort of fell off the wagon re:Hellboy comics, what has been going on with that if anything?
boy
It's totally what we call threads back here in 2008!
Not buying that?
*grumble grumble fine I'll fix it...*
I think it's one of the Marvel aliens, like a skrull or chitauri
a miserable pile of secrets

It manages not to destroy my affection for the series as a whole, which is perhaps not a high bar to clear.
Not even close.
You know the thing i'm talking about.
I agree, it's not close
if this was literally any other show I'd be so excited for this
but that trailer makes it look awesome

Let's discuss who would win in a fight, superman or Goku
okay... this I have to hear

That's what SaltyBet is for
Hancock the trailer, to Hancock the film, was the most incredible bait and switch
Everyone who isn't Indiana Jones in that movie is intensely grating
As haphazard as the writing was in 4, I at least mostly enjoyed the performances
The base cartoon one, Spider-Girl, Miles Morales, 2099, Noir, and someone covered up in the lower left
when did you fall off?
As mentioned above, Hellboy is bumming around Hell. Meanwhile, Liz Sherman is kicking all the ass in the world:
Maybe not better as "film"
But certainly more Indiana Jonesey
There's really only one character in Temple of Doom who's grating
She keeps it from being on par with Raiders/Last Crusade, but it's still a damn good movie
That looks like it has the potential to be sit-throughable.
I want to say the last Hellboy stuff I read was the Conqueror Worm stuff? And for BRPD the last thing I remember is the Plague of Frogs
So uh, it's been awhile
I'm kidding!
Mostly.
Jeez, no kidding.
