Great comic as always! Reading the new Wedonwantcha is the highlight of my day!

I suspect he is giving Brian his due. I tend to read the art in comics as being from the perspective of the main character, except when there is clearly a discrepancy (which is usually done for humorous reasons...)
In this case, the 'glow' or halo around Brian as Malachi finishes makes me think that he is the one referred to.
I think that was a mislead (i.e. the joke), he's talking about himself.
My guess is at his bruises because Purdy is wonderfully insane, and because that is what most likely invoked Seventeen's great expression in the same panel.
I like this comic and all, Katie - but this is from me to Malachi:
NO, Jerkass. You better be lucky to accept being Brian's janitor after all that went down here because of your BS! Seventeen would make a better vice president tat your weak ass.
