After today's update, I went back to read the previous strip and only just noticed the BBs scattered everywhere after Brian smashes the gun. Totally overlooked that before!
I guess, but the marks dont seem to match up with her slap. Just looks odd, like he was bitten several times...either way those look like bruises. I dont think its quite what it appears to be.
She caused them, but not by slapping him. Those are the spots where she shot him with the BB's in the previous strip. In his berserker state he was fighting against bees that were attacking him, but that was actually him being shot multiple times.
The marks are from Purdy shooting him with a BB gun in the previous comic, not from some unspecified abuse he may have suffered in the past. Those wasps flying around him in the previous comic were his visualization of the "sting" of a BB.
@azith28@kver I had assumed those were marks from the BBs that she shot Brian with in the last comic. In panel 6, she slaps him and only then does he feel the pain from the bruises that the BBs caused.
TinWatchMan:
I suspect he is giving Brian his due. I tend to read the art in comics as being from the perspective of the main character, except when there is clearly a discrepancy (which is usually done for humorous reasons...)
In this case, the 'glow' or halo around Brian as Malachi finishes makes me think that he is the one referred to.

I think that was a mislead (i.e. the joke), he's talking about himself.
Hmm, so did Purdy laugh out of nervousness, or at Brian's bruises?
My guess is at his bruises because Purdy is wonderfully insane, and because that is what most likely invoked Seventeen's great expression in the same panel.
I'm really disliking Malachi. Seriously, Brian and Seventeen are the only things to read this comic for, besides the brilliant dark humor usage this camp is riddled with at every turn.
I like this comic and all, Katie - but this is from me to Malachi:
NO, Jerkass. You better be lucky to accept being Brian's janitor after all that went down here because of your BS! Seventeen would make a better vice president tat your weak ass.
Weasels will bite. They've got quite a bit of jaw strength because they murder rabbits three times their own size.
A pissed-off and injured weasel isn't something I have any desire to hold or come near.

Great comic as always! Reading the new Wedonwantcha is the highlight of my day!
Purdy's Dhalsim in disguise.
Forget the damn rabbits, you're stuck out in the wilderness and need protein.

Thank you.
I've really loved this storyline ^_^
The Misadventures of a very Metal Kitty!
I just wanna say, I love the character Malachi because I hate the person.
