So I have an HP laptop awhile ago when I was in A-school I broke the screen to the point where you couldn't use it I went to best but they said the screen would cost more than the price I paid for the laptop so today I bought an HDMI cord and plugged it up to my tv it worked. But the screen was a bit to small so I went to settings and tried adjusting it to make it full screen, we'll it went to big and I'm guessing it froze it wouldn't let me do anything so I turned my laptop off and on, unplugged everything, and I also tried pressing the screen tab on my keyboard to put it back onto my laptop and back on my tv screen nothing worked so I pressed control alt delete and the screen went black. Now it won't do anything and my screen on my laptop is broken so I can't see anything on it. Any suggestions?

Screen replacement costs at most 240$ if you have someone else do it besides best buy. If you do it yourself it can cost as little as 100$. As long as the laptop isn't too old, it isn't that high of a price to pay, unless its a really cheap model.
www.screencountry.com I have used these people several times you can find your particular screen by your laptop make and model, they have a few youtube videos you can follow to replace the actual screen. Replacing a laptop screen is not a hard task on most laptops, as it involves just popping the bezel off after removing the front screws, then unscrewing the screen, replace it with the replacement and put it all back together. You shouldn't have to take apart the bottom half of the laptop at all for most laptop models.
Otherwise get a quote from a smaller repair shop in town that isn't best buy, the price will probably be far more reasonable.
You should have a VGA out on the laptop as well so I would try that to see if you can get the picture to show up. If you cant there might be something else wrong besides the screen.
Edit: Sorry, didn't see other post saying it worked on other TV. Look up the TV is ain't working on and find the native resolution for the panel and set it to that while hooked up to working tv. Do you have model info?
