"Something's gone wrong in the happy-go-lucky land of Nintendo" indeed, and it's gone wrong four times now, counting the latest entries in the series.

These entries are:

Super Smash Bros for Wii U, coming out "Holiday 2014"



and Super Smash Bros for 3DS, releasing October 3rd, 2014 in the US.



As you can see, the names roll right off the tongue.

But the real draw of Super Smash Bros is and always has been the cast of characters, and boy, do we have a roster this time!

There are the returning characters you'd expect; Mario, Samus, Pikachu, Ike

While we're in the home stretch to a release, there's bound to be some more information/announcements coming down the pipe, even if it's just screenshots from the developer on Miiverse (which I will do my very best to post everyday there's an update), and in the meantime it would be Super to set up a list of Wii U usernames and 3DS Friend Codes for some Smashing with forum Bros. If you're the 'no items, final destination' type, more power to you

But I am very much in love with the beautiful chaos this game creates with all items, 4 players, and dumb ass stages

Yeah, that's how I prefer my Smash Bros, too

At the same time though, I'm happy that this time around they're giving (almost) every stage a Final Destination variant, so at least the people who like to play it like a pro get some nice aesthetic variety:

The Wii Fit Trainer is definitely the weirdest of the additions, and the fact that they more or less led with her was great

I mean, her trailer was right on the tail-end of the initial announcement, wasn't it?

I find it hard to believe that nintendo would be paying royalties on any of them

And they added the male version of the wii fit trainer (and villager) even though it was twice the work, because Nintendo really cares about their male audience.
