So I am thinking about buying a new cell phone. Currently I am with Tmobile and still have over a year left. Looking at their "upgrades" I wasn't highly impressed with my options. So having done a little research on "unlocked" cell phones, I am looking into that direction. Anyone have any reputable sites for companies selling cheap, unlocked phones? Any personal opinions on said phones?
I've unlocked my own cell phones before, and it's always been totally easy. Its going to be a lot more cost efficient to just buy a locked phone and do it yourself.
I think there was something that whoever your carrier is should have to unlock your phone, but I'm not sure. There are websites out there with codes though... I can't remember any of them though...it's been over a year since I unlocked my last phone.
I ordered the same phone (SE w810i) off ebay, same thing that my roommate did. Just be cautious though, look for a high seller rating, pictures that they took themselves with tags, and if it's too good to be true, it probably is.
I'm planning on getting an unlocked cellular phone myself pretty soon, and I'm getting mine from http://www.cellular-blowout.com I live in Western Canada, so people have assured me that I'd have to purchase an unlocked phone, if I didn't want to use a default cellular phone from Rogers/Fido, which use GSM. The site is reputable, as far as I know. It may be worthwhile to check it out if you can't unlock phones yourself or whatever
