Getting tired of the rich metropolitan cityscape of Seattle, Washington? The Emerald City not quite green enough for you? Longing to have someone else pump your gas as mandated under penalty of law?
Come hang with us in
"The City of Roses," Portland, Oregon.
Some things that Portland is notable for, (trust us):
Beautiful natural surroundings including a wonderful view of the "extinct" volcano, Mt. St. Helens.
Temperate weather. Think Seattle but with ever so slightly less rain.
BEER! "It is often said that Portland is the home of the
microbrew revolution in the United States."
When will it be?
A small group of us are arriving on Friday the 20th. Myself, from Corvallis, and a group of fine young ladies, from Vancouver, BC. If you live in either of these areas and need some travel info or aid contact me, or Mully, and we might be able to work something out.
We will be staying until Sunday afternoon.
Who else will be there?
There are actually quite a number of Portland PA-Forum members. We plan to acquire their aid and companionship on Saturday the 21st. Expect a day chalk full of traditional X-PAX banter and in-jokes.
What will we do?
Well, we are always up for suggestions, but some of Saturdays activities will no doubt include: Three chatter filled meals with PA Forum folks, a stroll through the Portland zoo, tasty coastal sea-snacks, and Beer...lots and lots of beer. If you hang with us on Friday, expect a thorough exploration of the downtown area and a polite stroll through
Powell's...It's not just a book store...it's a 68,000 square foot book store.
Where should I stay?
Well, if you are short on cash I would talk to one of the Portland natives and try to arrange something. Some of these include but are not limited to: ZeroZero, Sami, Oogmar...
Otherwise stay with the rest of the rabble at the
Day's Inn near downtown. I'll totally be naked at some point. Won't that be cool?
What I want from you?
Feedback, really. Are you a Portlander with an idea for a cool activity or location or restaraunt? Do you plan on attending? For what portion of the event? Do you need travel or monetary support? Does the trip seem appealing/unappealing to you? I've never put a PAX together before,
help a guy out here!
