That is one ginormous mountain lion! I thought it was the cat, but I found another more discrete kitty. Well, with a mutant mountain lion on the loose, I'd say camp life is about to get interesting. Maybe Purdy will poach it.
At first glance, I thought the lion was flipping the kids the bird. And yeah, that's, the most intense cat face I've seen for ages. Reminds me of this :
Ok, this is getting weird. I saw a mountain lion yesterday... O_o
Where'd you see it? I want to be sure I'm as far away from that place as possible.
Minto-Brown Park in Salem, Oregon. It ran across the road, stopped halfway, looked at us for a moment, and then ran the rest of the way across the road and dove into the bushes. We were in a car with the windows rolled up, which made it a lot cooler and less scary than otherwise. I was surprised by how fast it moved-- there's no way anyone could outrun it. Cursory googling reveals a top land speed of about 50 mph. That's a fast cat.
Look carefully- there is a housecat (not just the lion)
It's not a housecat, it's a campcat... or a feral cat that occasionally visits the mess hall looking for a free meal. Either that or it's just Ceiling Cat moonlighting as a rafter cat.
Am I the only one that wants to see Seventeen befriend the mountain lion in the name of the animal kindness league (sorry I can't remember what it's actually called), and then just start randomly riding it around places?
Let's see... At 50 mph, it could definitely be close to the Seattle area by now. Assuming it ran through the night.
Cat's aren't endurance runners.
Also, humans which aren't couch potatoes can run down a deer in open ground.
Humans very much are endurance runners.
A fact that's obscured by our modern lifestyles.

It was heading North... What's the opposite of a consolation?

I don't have anything to say about him. I just wanted to draw your attention to him.

And now I also know why I've had such trouble running down deer lately. I should probably get off this couch and start getting in shape.
