Alternative PAX parking

Kusanagi604Kusanagi604 Registered User regular
For the past few years I've been parking at the hotels and they charge an arm and a leg for parking. This year I've reserved a spot in a park and ride by the Airport. I'm wondering if anyone knows of closer parking for the weekend that's not as expensive as the hotels.

Here is some info for you to use, if you'd like. I'm guessing the daily rate for street level open air lots is a bit cheaper than the hotel rates.

The WSCC parking entrance on Hubbell Pl *might* have parking for $10 for the duration of the convention; pay up front. In the past the payment exit area thingy always broke (only the entrance on Hubbell Pl off of Seneca St) and people could just leave without paying at all. SO they implemented a $10 pay up front method that I'm guessing they will continue this year, but I'm not sure what day it starts or ends for that matter. And just because they did it this way in the past doesn't guarantee they will in the future. Calling to verify is always a good plan.

Sorry, I should have said overnight parking.

I am also sorry if I was being unclear. If you don't leave you only pay $10. That price is for overnight parking, not per day.

The WSCC parking garage should be about $25-30 for overnight parking (it tends to change from year to year). If you aren't overnight, the charge goes up every couple of hours- so Monday will cost less than Fri-Sun.

There is a lot across the street from the paramount theatre that's $17 for overnight, but it's an open-air, no security kind of affair... not necessarily where you want to leave your car all con.

Speaking of parking does anyone know of garages that is for all day with freedom to come and go? Our hotel is about 15-30 mins from the convention center. Just would hate to shell out more then 10 bucks a pop every time to leave and come back.

Pretty sure none of them have in-and-out privileges.

Is it PAX <insert nearest future PAX here> yet?

Those that live in the area or commute in knows about the high rates it is to park and the limited availability of street parking.
What most don't know is that most parking lots (locations that don't have visible booths or not a parking structure) are great target for scams by what those in the biz call "pretendant". Please note, most locations don't have staff collecting cash or redirect people to other locations to park. Unless you are in SoDo/Stadium area and there is a sporting event, please do not hand cash to anyone. Some of these men will walk up to your car before you can look around the lot for signage. Feel free to call the police.
Employees will have proper IDs and uniforms.
I apologize in advance if this is not posted in the right place, please reassign. I just hope this info will help keep PAX-goers or any visitors to Seattle be safe.

Go to gottapark. Prices are reasonable and you can park through the night and you get in and out all combined. The only downfall is if you dont get there early you have to park in the alternative lots but they allow you to park at any of the lots in which there are a ton all over so you might have to walk an additional block or two but there is a different lot of theres every couple blocks it seems. I didnt like having to get there early for parking last year so ill just be parking at my work and walking over even though it is about 6 blocks away

Thank you! I managed to get a reservation for $103 from Friday morning to noon on Tuesday, which is a better deal than what I've found anywhere else.

So I spoke with The WSCC parking people and the pre-pay price this year for The Freeway Park Garage (Hubbell Pl. entrance) is $15 and that is only for Sat. Sun. & Mon. Example time: If you show up on Sat. and stay till Mon. you only pay $15 if you don't leave. If you arrive before Sat. you have to pay regular rates. I hope this helps somebody. As always please call The WSCC directly to ask any specific questions, and ask for a transfer to the head of the parking garage.

Glad i could help. Sorry i didnt post this sooner as it is usually cheaper the further away the event. Ive parked there for pax and emerald city comic con for the past four or five years and have always been happy with there customer service and price

If you are willing to walk, there is usually plenty of parking at the Queen Victoria garage on Elliot st. There are also several U-Park/Diamond lots on Western Ave that have spots open daily. Note: Some of these lots have businesses that pay for spots, so just because a spot is open doesn't mean it is available. Parking will be easier on Sat/Sun/Mon. These locations are a 20 min walk from the Convention center but are cheaper than other locations. NOTE: Parking in Belltown (the area I suggested) is risky. Make sure you have NOTHING visibly valuable in your car. If you leave an ipad on the seat you will loose it, and the window.

If you are using gottapark there is a discount code that works during the Pax weekend MIDWEEK. It is what i just used to save about 10ish dollars for parking Saturday - Sunday

Pacific Place isn't far from the convention and the overnight rate is $8.
Don't go into Queen Anne/Seattle Center area. Bumbershoot will be going on and parking will be hard to find since there are many locations that are reserved for the local businesses. You can check the waterfront for day parking.
I'd checked in the Capitol Hill/First Hill area for cheaper parking. Or in Pioneer Squ/SoDo, though the Washington Nationals are in town to play the Ms (two evening games and Sunday day game).

AGAIN, restating an obvious but when parking your car, make sure NOTHING of value to thieves are showing. Make sure vehicles are locked and GPS locate your car via apps when you are too tired to remember where you parked. ;)

Might I suggest this one? I have no affiliation with the company, I just mention it because it's free and amuses me greatly the way it's designed. :)
