Anyone else here messing around with lethal league? i am having fun with it, I can't seem to consistently be able to get switch's super to work though, not sure why, no problem with any other character's.
Edit: Apparently when his super meter is full if you press jump a second time in the air he does a kick flip and if the board connects with the ball it does a special shot and consumes his super meter.
So last night, I had the most perfect match in Street Fighter history. It is the one point where I wish I could have recorded it, and I haven't felt that way since I carried some dude between two walls in T6.
So, I'm Makoto. I've blown some matches trying to play Chun Li. Load up a 2k+ PP, 3.5k BP, ranked 25 Zangief.
I'm 443 PP, 1.3k BP Makoto.
I'm fully expecting to get stomped. Like into the ground. Blood everywhere.
I do the first round. The second round however, something clicked. I made a couple of good reads and would have won the round if I didn't fuck up punishing his U2 after I baited it out. But all the pieces are there. He's Zangief. But not just any Zangief. ONLINE Zangief. The kind of Zangief that mashes 720 in range.
The kind of Zangief that greenhands with impunity.
The kind of Zangief that counts on you not KNOWING Zangief.
And then I realized. There is one character that I have figured out. That I KNOW. It's Zangief. I don't know why it couldn't have been Vega, or Bison. But in one moment of clarity I realized I know everything a Zangief wants to do, at any time, and how to stop it.
I salty runback and pick Elena.
He barely wins the first round due to my excitement at my revelation, and also, CONDITIONING.
What followed, was the most brutal, mindfucking back to back wins I have ever had, against anyone. It was dirty. It should have been illegal in the United States. Rated M, for Mature.
I shut down EVERYTHING he wanted to do. Raw greenhands were read and met with throws. Crossup splashes Shoryuken's. The conditioning for lows paid off in raw overheads into links, or dropping it on purpose and just straight up throwing.
It was so bad at the end he was downbacking so hard I just WALKED UP AND THREW HIM.
The last match the only thing he had was raw "safe" jumps(No jump is a safejump against Elena) trying to get in.
It was the most satisfying 100pp I've ever earned.
I would Awesome that post in praise of blowing up one of those goddamned online Zangiefs, but I can't endorse Elena under any circumstances. Sorry.

Elena is great because I just fought a Vega with her, and I completely passed through a Bloody High Claw punish. It's like only 1/3 of her moves don't have functioning hurtboxes.
No more socal tekken stream at wnf?! Back to only watching top 3 at 4am?!

Hell with Wednesday Night Fights, it was really cool when some weeks other games got spotlighted, but now its 6 hours of sf and top 3 of everything else at ass o'clock
It was at least okay when sidegames had their own streams, because then I could watch whatever the fuck I want. But now that it's back to the other way, I don't really care.
Socal tk is pretty tight knit, what are the odds everyone would just say fuck it and play on a different day? Valle has proved time and time again that he doesn't really give half a crap about tk, so why bother being the barely tolerated stepkid at his street fighter party?
