Water-soaked Samsung Intensity II

I have an old Samsung Intensity II. After a soggy camping trip, it ended up on the tent floor and is not working any more. How can I fix it?

The standard practice is to take the battery out and stick it in a bag of uncooked rice for a few days. If it doesn't turn on after charging it, you need a new device.

Yep, take it apart as much as possible, let the uncooked rice absorb all the moisture.

The screen says "USB Download Mode" at the top

and "bootclock version: ver dione:JD11.1" at the bottom

I will put in a bag of rice

    Quit turning it on!

Water itself isn't what destroys the phone. It's a drop of water creating a bridge across two places creating a short circuit, an extra pathway for electricity to travel that was never intended in the original design. The extra amperage will burn out components almost immediately.

So turn off the phone, take out the battery, and put in rice! Don't even look at it until Wednesday!

Oh, wow. I didn't know that. I took the battery out of it, and put in a bag with some rice. Thanks @Metalbourne‌
