How are these games with noobs like myself? I played DnD for about a year or two like 12 years ago. But I have long since forgot how it is played, and I am pretty sure our DM ran his own customer twists to the rules.

I can't speak for this year, but in the past they have run learn to play events and regular games. I think that the DMs are expecting for there to be people that are new to RPGs or new to DnD 5. So, my advice is not to worry about it, give it a try and have fun.

Yes, with the new edition just out, everything is level 1 to 4 with premades able to be picked up. Now if you want to be an informed gamer, the basic rules are a free download and the events will be using the new adventures league system. See the links for more info. The 1 hour events are very newbie friendly. There isn't a separate "learn to play" this year, as everyone is learning the new edition in many ways.

I'm so looking forward to this. I need to fit one of these games into my schedule somehow. I can probably do all of them if I move them around a bit. I need to get a good grasp of the game and how it plays not only from a players perspective but a DMs perspective so I can bring back the flame of either hope or fury to my gaming groups

@BadNews65 Look over this and create your own character to bring with you! Just follow the rules for ability scores (no rolling) the basic rules have a character sheet you can use.

Or if you don't want to, here is a link to the pregens you can pick up.

There are three events. They have 1 hour starter sessions the whole weekend. They have 4 hour sessions that'll go from levels 1-4. And then there's the main event, which is on sunday night. That's the big one.

When can you sign up for the Sunday night event, as I'm sure there will be a signup of some sort.

D&D will have a kiosk on the Motif 4th Floor lobby, which you'll see as soon as you get off the elevators. They will handle their own signups for their events, so please visit them onsite for the latest info. If I find out more details about when signups open for the Sunday night event specifically, I'll tweet info through my @Lackey Twitter account.
