Hairspray and neon: music made on computers
Okay we've had some threads with music in during the past but never really Electronic Music.
I love Electronic Music. 80's Revival! Trance! Euphoric! Drum and Bass! Techno! Synthpop! Dubstep!
This is a thread for people who like their sounds synthetic! It's also basically an excuse for me to post Lazerhawk.

What are people's favourite electronic music genres? Favourite bands? Fondest memories of nights spent dancing to someone's laptop playlist?

I would so love to see them live in an arena show, they are supposed to be the best for that
This will be here until I receive an apology or Weedlordvegeta get any consequences for being a bully
if it bleeps, then it is good
Except fucking Galvanize
Been listening to a lot of chiptunes too. I especially like NES chiptunes because of the nostalgic feelings I get.
Have you kept up with any of their more recent releases?
I
Love
Drum
And
Bass
This thread was meant for me
Gonna post a bunch of stuff when I get back from shopping
His library is pretty anemic, but what's there is great.
Then we have she:
Atomic is my favorite, but Just Your Eyes and chiptek are great, too.
Zircon is one of several bands I found thanks to Pandora:
Next we have Justice, who have too many great songs for me to list them all, but I'll at least do three of my favorites:
Waters of Nazareth is one of their most striking and grungy pieces, whereas D.A.N.C.E. and Civilization are probably more accessible (but still wonderful).
I'm not the biggest fan of Porter Robinson, but I do really enjoy Spitfire:
I liked Digitalism before "Person of Interest" made them cool (it's me, I'm the electronica hipster):
And how could I talk about electronica without mention my second favorite band of all time (losing out only to Daft Punk): the Glitch Mob. Here, have my favorites.

Norwegian ambient house: http://royksopp.com/ https://soundcloud.com/royksopp
orchestral breaks (& drum and bass): http://www.hybridsoundsystem.com/ https://soundcloud.com/hybridsoundsystem
d&b: Pendulum
downtempo: Air's Talkie Walkie, MillionYoung
triphop: Portishead, Massive Attack (i cannot emphasize enough how much these two bands, particularly the albums Dummy and 100th Window are entrenched in my brain.) UNKLE
electro: LAZRtag, Vitalic's Flashmob, Simian Mobile Disco's Attack Decay Sustain Release
indietronic: Imogen Heap's Ellipse, Postal Service
psychedelic: Shpongle
dancehall psychedelic: Major Lazer
almost-universally known names, and worthy of a swim in the (extensive) backlog: Aphex Twin, Daft Punk, Chemical Brothers, Crystal Method, BT, Amon Tobin
posting this from an ipad sucks!
i'll get to videos when i'm not jetlagged.
I will have to post a bunch tomorrow.

i keep hoping this will eventually surface as a download. just a great, moody ambient 2-hr set.
I am also partial to breakbeats of the nu-skool variety. Particularly tearout or stuff that is gratuitously funky.
I also sometimes listen to some wub. But please don't tell anyone.

Can this be a trip hop thread?
This hurts me.
Their newer work isn't really D&B? But really they are overplayed more than anything.
They should be replaced by Nero as the ubiquitous dance hall sound though
the bassssssss
is that so bad
you know it aint
But
Their music drives me crazy these days because it all sounds the same. I can hear one of their tunes for the first time and instantly know it's them because of how it's produced. Namely the fucking drum and bass kazoo noise they like so much.
But then, they gave us Vault, so I'll always be glad they existed
Equinoxe 4 - Jean Michel Jarre:
This whole album is fantastic
