I loaded up Arma III for the first time in a couple weeks (believe there was an update in between) and after starting a mission and alt-tabbing, my screen went all white. Only way out was a hard reset.
After booting back up, I had no video for the entire boot process, without hearing the Windows boot up music, and my Asus monitor showed an "Out of Range" error on the HDMI input.
I found this to be an error involving the output being outside the capability of the monitor. I switched to a DVI cable, and found the video distorted but readable enough for me to go into the BIOS and switch the video output to the onboard mobo output, which I then connected via HDMI.
The onboard video output looked fine, no distortion of any kind. I changed the video resolution/refresh rate to a lower level, and switched back to the video card in the BIOS. However, it seemed to revert to the settings used when it was last hooked up to the video card.
Using the DVI cable and the video card, I was able to boot into Safe Mode after earlier disabling the "Always restart after system failure" option. Even there, however, no changes to the resolution/refresh rate allowed me to boot into Windows normally.
I then did a full uninstall of the Catalyst 14.4 drivers and suite, even deleting the registry keys and folders in AppData. After reinstalling with the latest 14.7 beta drivers, there was no change.
Is there any other test or diagnostic tool I can use to verify that the card itself is done for? I have searched without finding anything focusing on troubleshooting (only stress test and benchmarking), and did not see anything of the sort on the Ultimate Boot CD. Thanks!
