They've done all kinds of bomb defusing minigames, but this one was new. No shame in fucking up except realizing you sucked at taking advise from your advisors.
I've only seen it in an area mission in one specific area of Kobali Prime, so if you didn't play too much of that zone, or just missed it then yeah.
For the recruit:
Dilithium from kills (expires at end of event)
250 of each rep mark
600 fleet marks
2 free pieces of Delta reputation set gear
1m EC
525k expertise
10k reputation-only dilithium*
50k fleet-only dilithium*
1k regular dilithium
100 of each fleet holding commodity
6 R&D doffs
Photonic Engineer boff
Instant boost of one R&D school up to level 10
Four packs of purple equipment
Two of those free big ticket item upgrades (account bound)
Temporal Insight starship trait (invincibility after any hull heal)
Ground device "Paradox Corrector" (team rez/heal that can be used while dead)
Space device "Temporal Negotiator" (50% cooldown reduction)
And for the account:
845 marks for any rep (in increments of 10, 35, 100, 200, and 500, so you can spread them around)
150 fleet marks
5k fleet-only dilithium*
1k dilithium
Materials equivalent to 7 C-store R&D packs plus a large and small R&D boost
Photonic Engineering boff
Temporal Insight trait
Paradox Corrector device
Temporal Negotiator device
If you're planning to gut the recruit to feed your main afterwards, you'll be able to come away with over 100,000 dilithium and 1 million EC, plus the 6 doffs, boff, trait, and devices.
Hell, the whole thing almost sounds worth it for that Paradox Corrector. Because, really, fucking AOE self rez.

TL;DR version: Recruits get a bunch of random numerics to jump start their grind, rest of the account mostly gets a bunch of marks and some really cool new toys.
Well, this was unexpected. In the patch Thursday they added a new Negh'var variant for free, the voDelH (not to be confused with the too-similar voD'leH, a Vo'quv variant). It's only a slight variant, mostly identical to the Negh'var. However, it has the spikes seen on the All Good Things version of the Negh'var (but not the DS9 version), and has a second wing option that includes the seige cannons seen on the DS9 version but not the STO version. You can combine both to see the alternate future version from Endgame, as well.
So bring on the shipwank:
"Nice ship you have there. Would be a shame if I were to - aw, why'd you already blow them up? I was trying to do a whole thing."
So, nothing *that* new, but it is, for the first time in STO, possible to screen-accurately recreate all three canon Negh'var variants.
Pathfinder style angular lines, narrow nacelle lights, and weird profile to the secondary hull, but very recognizable Galaxy stylings above the belt.
Negh'Tev-class Battlecruiser (T6 Negh'var):
Really busy design here, but still my favorite of the bunch. Heavy, mean, big guns on the wings. The head looks for all the damn world like a Lirpa blade for some reason, but it stays away from the broad hammer head like the Bortas and the gun head like the Mogh, which Cryptic has been doing a lot in Klingon ships.
D'Khellra-class Warbird (T6 D'deridex)
The lower wings join in farther from the nacelles than normal D'deridex variants, which gives it an awkward catamaran shape. I like the fierce mutalisk-looking style to the head and body, but I notice it's got some of that jagged featuring on the back of the wings like the command warbirds, which I never really liked.
No word on price, acquisition, etc, but they all have the same console (AOE damage to enemies and a defense buff to self, both of which increase with the more enemies hit) and trait (changes reverse shield polarity so at the end of the duration your shields give off an explosion to damage everything around you).
Console could be a huge fuck you to carriers and a great way to get lethal amounts of agro on yourself in target heavy missions like starbase fleet defense. Trait doesn't sound that great, and doesn't do anything anyway unless you do use RSP.
Apparently the Galaxy-class also got a facelift not many people noticed along with the Negh'var getting the new pieces I mentioned already. It now has numbered shuttlebays and the arboretum, neither of which are particularly visible in the screenshot they provided.
Edit: Cryptic added some badass action shots of all three that show off some closer details and different angles

Those pylons are... weird. Another odd shuttlebay placement, which Cryptic seems to enjoy doing with the Galaxy variants. Negh'Tev
Not so much liking the deflector in this shot, but still my favorite. D'Khellra
Ship redeemed in my eyes, that is a great shot.
Started a Delta Romulan, the extra stuff isn't too obnoxious, the Romulan story line is way better than the federation one so far, though ship selection is worse by far (at level 10 you get uhh one yep just the one without paying for another). And having to find iconian stuff hasn't been too hard though I'm hella paranoid about missing anything so I explore every bit before leaving.
Went federation because that's where I have the majority of my unlocked ships and I can have a command cruiser without having to drop coin on the rommie ones despite them looking awesome.
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.
I was surprised how greatly improved the fed tutorial is. It has a little storyline and they actually give you a bridge crew that has a small whiff of personality.
I'm actually going to keep these guys until level 11 or so before I beam them into space and replace them with a cadre of hunky dudes as is customary.

Well the important part is you tried... Sexist.
On my fed I still have the initial tac person you start with. Tores, though I don't recall her being voiced like the romulan first officer is.
I do love the new thing for Boffs in that you don't have to level them anymore they just get their skills as you have spots. My weapon set up is weird as I don't have any good science officers on my ship so despite being a science captain I'm just double torps up front with a beam bank and a turret in back.
I had no idea romulan war birds have that singularity core thing where they can unleash built up attacks.
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.
The updated tutorials for Klingons and Feds could have given more personalities and post-tutorial dialogue to the new Bridge Officers you get but apparently one too many players complained about Tovan and Cryptic decided not to risk getting more negative comments about Flores and K'Gan.
I love tovan! People fucking complained? Man fuck those losers! Though it is weird as a rommie Borg having a personality and stuff, I guess I'm a weird borg.
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.
Opinions on Tovan were really crazily split. He amounts to exactly what people wanted out of boffs that they couldn't get usually, and a lot of people really love that. But you also can't rename or airlock him, and some people don't like that (the same people who won't shut up about not being able to customize their Breen it seems). Nobody really seems to be lukewarm on him.
Even though Elisa Flores doesn't get as much development as Tovan Khev, I like her, too. I've kind of reconciled the whole admiral-micromanaging-a-ship thing by headcanoning her as captain. My character has one of the Jupiter uniforms with the gold veteran shoulders, she's in the same uniform with silver vet shoulders, and the rest of my starfleet crew has it with plain cloth (except for one that I stuck in an S32 uniform, because STO seems to subscribe to the Joss Whedon school of super secret organization that puts their logo on everything).
Tovan doesn't bother me. I actually will keep Elisa and not airlock her because I may as well keep one human boff around for the space trait. The rest of them though, yeah they are getting airlocked sorry.
So what's a good science ship build for when I can actually as a romulan get a god damn science ship without paying for it? I know that when I get to 50 I'll have all my fed ship unlocks, but man alive romulans have some of the worst ship selection even klingons got better. I guess because you can use fed or klingon? But you have to freaking pay for that!
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.
Much better. Replaced the starter crew and I'm already all the way through the Klingon War arc. I did keep Flores around and stuck her in the seven of nine outfit to enhance crew morale.
In my head canon the former crew members stayed with the last ship when I took command of my new ship. In reality of course they were beamed into space.
Apparently the server load is causing mission completion issues all over the game.
The good news is you only actually need to get far enough in the tutorial to get the Tesseract Communication Device during the event. There's no time limit on actually unlocking and claiming the rewards.

This makes me feel less bad about having a bridge crew comprised entirely of alien babes.

At least those alien babes have important ship responsibilities. They're not stuck in catsuits "to enhance crew morale" while the White Man Squad takes center stage.

Actually they're stuck in miniskirts and tiny tops. To enhance the captain's morale, you see.

She's still the tac officer. Just not away team anymore.
Got to rank 48 figured I'd call it a night, I do like the science ship you finally get at rank 40 as a romulan. Currently dropping grav wells and torps. I'll try the delta rising rommie ships when I hit 50 (because I'm a whale and bought the expansion itself back in october). At least both intel ships look cool on the romulan side.
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.
Faeht is an odd duck, I've got her set up for cannons ("cheapest" option here) but I've also jacked up my exotic damage with sci consoles to take advantage of the ltc seating so I can drop gravity wells and follow up with cannon volley/torp spread. Holy shit its a glass cannon, like its the glassest of glass cannons, but man I carve up ships I think it hits harder than my better equipped fed escort.
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.
So I used my lifetime sub zen allowance to buy keys. I bought 20 and used them all.
And I got a nicor bioship out of one of them. What are the fucking odds of that? I opened so god damned many temporal boxes way back when and never got a timeship. I finally got enough lobi to buy a temporal warship, sell it, and just buy the temporal science vessel at auction (this was when it was new so the lobi ship was comparably priced to the lockbox ship - this is not the case now).
I priced it and they only sell for like 80 million which makes it not worth selling IMO so I'm using it on my new guy.
Played the game for the free month when it first came out, came back after it went f2p and played a Klingon for a little while, ended up just messing with duty officer assignments.
Came back with the Delta Recruit event and have been leveling up a Romulan tactical officer and really enjoying it. I had a little regret at 30 picking the D'deridex battlecruiser (probably my favorite TNG ship design) just because it was so slow turning. Hit 40 right before bed last night and went for the Ha'feh Assault 'bird for the speed and maneuverability though I liked the design of the Ha'apax more. Haven't had a chance to fly it yet, but grabbed a couple tier X cannons off the exchange to replace all the beams I had on the D'deridex.
Man, I really like the looks of the Guardian cruiser. Getting bored of my Armitage class escort and would love a classy big fed cruiser for a change, but 3000 = $30. That's alot of money for one ship.

Doing some tribble breeding. I had a huge surpluss of (ric) tribbles which is the gateway tribble to breeding both +damage res and +damage tribbles (the other gateway tribble goes to +damage and +HoT but that wasn't what I was breeding).
Anyway, if anyone feels like tribble breeding they are there, just pull out what you want from the data sample section of the fleet bank. There are also (nix) and (stac) tribbles in there but those are just garbage that is being temporarily stored there, as soon as I log into a character with withdrawal privileges I will delete them. Or if someone else sees them first you can toss them if you feel like it. Don't toss the (ric) tribbles until we actually have a space issue in the fleet bank though (currently we do not have any space issues).
Tribbles won't breed in the fleet bank just FYI, they have to be in your bank or inventory.
There's news on a new Reputation coming in with the Season 10 patch. If you want to take a look at what the ground gear (minus weapons) looks like, check the box below. Click the link if you want to see what the new Rep brings.
