But there is a contest we are running at 360arcadians, and someone is swearing up and down that they did not just use photoshop filters to create this piece of fan art. If you kind folks would be so kind as to tell me one way or the other if this guy is full of shit or not, I would be much obliged.
I know it SHOULD be obvious... he swears he did this by eye from the screenshot and did not trace it, and I have examined multiple points on a pixel level and it looks like an obvious filtering job... but I have no idea what filters he used specifically, or if this truly 100% is a cheater or not.
Help me AC, you are my only hope!

The guy's full of it. If it helps any, cut out the outermost chunks of the second picture, namely a square or so into the giant crate at the left, enough to cleanly get rid of the FASASTUDIO watermark. As for the right end, cut out anything after that lit hallway ends. The texture detail, angle, EVERYTHING is way too perfect on the "Drawn" entry to really be passed off as anything but filtered.
It's not necessarily a filter. I achieved something close to that just now through desaturating the image and then using curves, completely jacking the highlights. I didn't get something EXACLTY like that, but close so it's possible there was some sort of filter applied after, or done through other means.
It's pretty self-evident to me. I don't see why you'd have to disprove anything.

Long distance runner, what you standin' there for?
the fact that it's even 'up in the air' being argued is sad and hilarious at the same time. Like, really? It's so obvious why did he even bother. there's no way. Look at the room. It LOOKS LIKE POLYGONS.
The only thing that I can tell he drew are the outlines of the legs and the lines on the airducts, because they don't match the original image...and because the lines are sketchy/gray/wrong. Everything else, though, is Photoshop editing, without a doubt.
I love the goddamn-huge watermark placed over everything.
It seems to me that someone with that great a grasp on anatomy and perspective would be a little more concerned about creating contrast in their pictures. It's like looking at a really weird fax!
This is about as damning of evidence as I can produce. This is the screenshot superimposed over that "entry" fluctuating in opacity- it's a pixel perfect match and an EXTREMELY OBVIOUS FILTER JOB. Tell this dude that an entire cadre of experienced artists says he's full of shit.

I really want to scream out that Photoshop meme from 4chan but I forget the wording.
I love the goddamn-huge watermark placed over everything.
Also the fact that the image seems to end suspiciously on the left, just before the fasa studios logo would appear
I guess lock time?

I just look for attention because my parents ignore me.
