The devs keep saying they worked very hard to have none of it contradict the events of the canon, though it's not really in keeping with the spirit of the canon or Tolkien's actual, you know, driving philosophy in writing this stuff
I'm really hoping the Istari show up because you're making too much noise around the place and they're all like YO, TAKE IT DOWN A FEW and then Talion is all PFF NO and then you fight some wizards and then Saruman is all OH MAN LOOK AT THE TIME, I'M, UH... "INJURED"... GOTTA FLY, Y'ALL GOT THIS 'DALF? COOL? COOL and then you beat on old Stormcrow and the Blue Wizards for a while more.

I say "dudes" to refer to ladies more than I say it to mean guys
I've been using "guys" and "dudes" to be a nonsexed collective noun for several years
If someone asked me not to I'd change it but noones ever been upset by it to this point
I use "folks" and "people" because no matter what anyone's intent, guys and dudes are masculine and refer to a group of males.
And if you disagree, please start using "gals" and "chicks" in the same way from now on and see how it feels.
Also, using the enemies power against them is fine and all but way way way out of place in Tolkein. I really think they went the wrong way with that if indeed that's how it plays out.
Dude hasn't been exclusive masculine for the entire time I've been cognizant
Dude and dudette. I know this because I was raised on TMNT cartoons, like a proper young dude.

They made a new creature for Shadows of Mordor, maybe for licencing reasons, I don't know. The creatures you're talking about are Caragors, and the idea is that Wolf is to Warg as Lion is to Caragor. So they're giant cats that stalk the plains of Mordor.
Edit: What's really cool about Caragors is that, since they're cats, they can climb anything that Talion can, so you should be able to scale buildings and rock wall when riding them.
I don't particularly care if someone uses guys or dudes to refer to both genders. As far as problems go it's pretty way down there on the scale. I personally changed how I used them because it bugged ME to do it but I won't call someone out for doing it.
However, keep three things in mind:
A: This is the third time this week I've seen someone needing to defend their use of these terms without provocation from anyone. That seems a little telling.
B: I don't see the point of trying to change the definition of words that absolutely mean "male" when we already have gender inclusive words that mean that thing if, indeed, that is at all a concern for you. Changing your vocabulary seems much much easier then changing everyone's definition of a word.
C: You would be hard pressed to find women who gets upset with the use of "dudes" or "guys" to include them but you would have males freaking right the hell out if you tried the same with "gals" and "dudettes". That alone should make someone think about how and why we use those words. Basically, why is it always ok to use the masculine term for everybody when the same is not true of the feminine?
So yeah. Based on that, I made a conscious effort to use actual non-gendered terms. It was pretty dang hard at first, much to my surprise. If you don't want to or you think it's silly, by all means don't.
And since this is now WAY WAY WAY off topic, have we seen these?
I really like that their picture of Mt Doom has grass. I'm pretty sure that Mordor, while a terrible place, isn't literally hell. They have farming in Mordor! Not near Mt Doom, but still...

yeah mordor in the films didn't seem like it would actually support life
The review embargo is lifting in a couple hours, so IGN and Polygon have announced the important news that they are in fact going to have reviews of this game.

The southern regions of Mordor are more fertile and that's where they grow and farm stuff to ship it to the military center, it's just that they don't go there in the story

To be fair, the path that Frodo and Sam took through Mordor didn't actually go anywhere near the notable fertile areas of Núrn.
A couple of people got copies early and streamed before they were shut down today. Only watched bits and pieces of combat, but it looks just as fun when its not being played by Monolith's expert.
Only thing I didn't like was finding out that you can't brand enemies until about halfway through the game
Wait in the videos it says "Uruk kill", but they don't look anything like the Jackson Urukhai? They look like big orcs. I wonder if there will be orcs, goblins and Uruk, or if they're just calling orcs Uruk?
Also I was watching a video on gamespot and the amount of cool shit you can do with the wraith ability looks amazing, like landing from big falls, or teleporting huge distances. The animations in this game look incredible, as do the orc designs, holy hell. The variety in the dialogue also looks brilliant.
Also an orc called another orc a "Man-Lover!" and it took me a few seconds to realise it wasnt a gay slur

Pretty much
Hopefully it's written better
Game play wise, it looks super solid, frankly.

New lore/setup video
I am excite, but I still don't understand this weird trend in games to have like an unemotional guy just explain what's happening
No idea

Turns out they needed to be replaced, as they're good for absolutely nothin'

I will be very curious to check it out

FWIW, word on the street from at least one of the sites reviewing it is that it's p good
Only thing I didn't like was finding out that you can't brand enemies until about halfway through the game
Edit:there will be bigger orcs later in the game supposedly.
