I am also real mad at myself for reinstalling orion after that gamergate list.
Huh?
people were posting curator lists in the last thread. one of them was a list of games that got targeted for being sexist or the creators supported Gamergate.
And on that list was Orion: Prelude. A real, bad video game. That i have owned since launch back under the title Orion: Dino Beatdown. a game i didn't really mind at the time until there was a whole buncha stuff about stolen assets that they had to remove, and then they disappeared for 9 months without any updates, and i guess it's being developed under a different company now?

it's pretty fascinating watching people who aren't giant bomb discover gang beasts http://youtu.be/XovJ497tV0Q
Dope game. Looks FANTASTIC. All the art is real good, looks a lot like the art in Guild Wars, but less painted, I guess would be the word. Feels very vibrant. And the tiles bases and all that, very dynamic as it pops ups into view as your units move past it.
It very much hangs on the frame of Endless Space, but melded with Civ. You can still build your individual units, but each one feels like something from HOMM. And combat plays out a little like a mix of HOMM and Civ, you can set unit placement, it zooms down onto the map and the actual hexes where you are fighting determines height and terrain and all that.
AND it's weird! Like apparently one of the races was sick of roaming space and so just landed and is starting their civilization. So you have space marines, sorta, getting tricked out with plate metal and stuff. Weird and cool game, looking forward to pumping more time into it.

I'm playing the shit out of Fez right now and I'm simultaneously the best and worst Fez player ever. Half the puzzles I'm destroying speed-run style the other half of the game consists of me hopping around the outside of my PC tower howling and hitting it with a bone.

Ugh damn, I gave those guys a dollar once to shoot dinosaurs too.
Wouldn't have done it had I known they would end up being gamergate supporters.

My mind is just still reeling over that super long discussion I had with a guy over the weekend who was convinced by facts that he had that there is no gender based pay gap and that since male rapes are under-reported then ALL THE DATA on sexual assault needs to get thrown out, and therefore is not a problem for women

They're shitty in nearly every way a developer can be.

Never Alone looks amazing. I saw it at the booth at PAX and the line to play was always really long.
And it seems like all is dying, and would leave the world to mourn

I'd been intentionally avoiding coverage of @Rankenphile's game and kinda blocking association with it because I didn't want my opinion to be coloured by the fact I know the guy and get along reasonably well with him. So I didn't follow any of his links or promo posts and basically dropped what it was called out of my head.
And then while I was doing my usual 'these upcoming indie games look great' thing and caught coverage of Never Alone I was pretty damned impressed and sought out a couple articles and put it on my watchlist and then about 3 days later I was like '...wait a minute'.
Fuck yeah, the system works! Also Never Alone looks great!
Holy shit, was catching up on my psn+ backlog ( I tag games as they become free then just get to them as I can)
Saw one in list that was describing itself as an old school arcade side scrolling slasher so thought why not. It's called Dragon's Crown and what in the sweet nine hells, was this entire game's art drawn by the actual living embodiment of 13 year old puberty?
And it's like to such an excessive degree it's kinda creepy, like how many muscles does a single butt need?
Some of the character designs were gross. Others were pretty cool. And this caused a whole lotta arguing over whether a game was all bad or partly bad or whether the good covered the bad etc.
It was a whole bunch of compulsory swaying and fainting, so much like an old timey Tent Revival, complete with its hopping devil and its perpetually put upon holy warriors

The game's designer responded to the criticism of his character designs by calling his critics gay.

I predict outrage from the usual contingent on account of they didn't interview any pro-gamergate people

This looks an awful lot like WipEout HD.
Which makes me very happy.

Spoilered because blarg , and prob NSFW
Edit: and that's one of the playable characters
It was a bit of a thing, when it came out. People were very critical of it.
The harder the rain, honey, the sweeter the sun.
It's also weird because the art that isn't gross is really pretty and lush and painterly.
