With an MLS focus.

That's right, the MLS, the best league you've never heard of. Soccer/football is taking off big-time in the US and has already been the largest global sport since forever.

There's been a lot of national matches lately!

Also the MLS season is coming to a close, of sorts. In the MLS, the team at the top of the league at the end of the open season wins what is called the Supporters' Shield. But then we also have playoffs for the MLS Cup.

The Supporters' Shield is down to two teams, the Seattle Sounders FC, and the L.A. Galaxy.

They have two matches against each other that will decide the victor of the Supporters' Shield, the first of which starts in about an hour.

Match thread on reddit is here, and will give you options for watching it, if that's your thing.

Feel free to drop any updates on your favorite team from any league in here! That world cup thread was getting old anyways.

    I like that the people backing City are now backing an MLS team, but man, they went with the wrong coast.

    Kinda related news, the Sounders are now sponsoring a largely fan-owned lower league team!

    That Sounders 2nd Team sounds like a cool idea hope it works out

    Also want to point out Manchester City Womens Team won their first silverware this week, beating Arsenal in the Cup Final. Saw them play a few times this summer, they played some good entertaining football

    The City Womens and youth teams have both been on top form for a while and I love it. I don't really get to watch the matches at all, but I follow the scores by twitter, facebook and reddit and they are all amazing.

    Yeah some of the youth teams are doing fantastically at the moment, and the new Academy/Training ground/ mini stadium opened up this week too, it's really impressive

    If I have it right, Seattle win here clinches the season title, Supporter's Shield. A loss or draw, and they have to beat LA at the next match next week. But yeah the Supporters' Shield is the season title for pure points. The MLS cup is then decided by playoffs, and both Seattle and LA already have swank-ass positions in the playoff roster.

    The announcers are gonna keep bringing up that Cascadia Cup lose against Vancouver all night, but the officiating in that match was criminal and also Yedlin was off with the US national team.

    Martins is one of those guys who will often spend 70 minutes of a match being lazy and then suddenly pop out of nowhere with a wizard-level set piece.
