I especially like how none of the traversal skills have any in world explanation for their existence. Your character just has the ability to slide on power lines, wall run indefinitely and jump 50 feet in the air, all without wearing shoes.
That the game just gives you these abilities without even attempting any justification adds a lot to the over-the-top craziness of the game.
One day, though.
I also loved the dog mission once you got the cat cannon. When I saw I had to lead the dog home with it I was really dreading the mission. The I encountered the first group of OD and watched the dog tear them to pieces. I didn't want to go back to Sasquatch's.

I would willingly give up all my weapons if I could just keep that one from that mission...
Also, there's really no penalty for dying huh? I mean, you lose some SunnyD cans or something I guess? Not that is bothers me. I love being able to just have mindless fun. It's like a new Saint's Row game!
Oh for reals, I held off because of that. I already have a PS4 thanks to the magnificent Ante on these very forums. An Xbox One isn't needed but this game, it's just hitting all the right buttons.

I'm glad this game is proving to a lot of people what I've been saying for a while now. That Insomniac still has it. Sure, R&C All 4 One was a bit of a misstep (but still fun for a co-op romp), and Fuse wasn't great (but still decent in spite of being focus-grouped to hell). However, I thought R&C Full Frontal Assault was a great spin on both R&C and tower defense (another element that carried over to Sunset), and R&C Into the Nexus was fantastic.

Like they're all over the map but I'm always like. "But what else can I unlock in story mode."

Funny how crazy some of the weapons are.
I was looking through some of the new weapons I gained last night and I actually said.
"Laser Cannon? Eh...boring."
For the first one my friend informed me I was an idiot and "bounce kills" are kills you get while bouncing, so Bounce and shoot OD, bam you bounce kill, you don't have to slam kill them.

I imagine you could blow through the campaign in 10-15 hours. But with the online mode, side missions, and just how fun it is to grind around the city shooting shit, I can see the game holding the player's attention for a lot longer.
The person who could do the story missions straight, without deviating into some side activity of some sort, is A. laser focused and B. probably sort of a boring person.
Yeah seriously. Much like how your combo meter takes a bit to warm up, you start out with a couple od just being dicks, and then all of a sudden you have a fucking war and its glorious.

Well, if you can wander around freely once you finish the "story", eh. Figure everyone will do the story, some people would bitch about "having" to do side missions.
I want to say it was a conscious choice to have people play the story instead of the usual "get everything I can before even attempting story mission 2" god knows thats my usual and this game is forcing me to break the habit and its kind of refreshing.
