The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
So today, 4/12 was supposed to be Capcom's Gamers Day.
Some kind of event that at least to me was very ambiguous but was supposed to have a lot of new info on REWii/RE UC and some some suprisess blah blah blah.
BUT
It's now 4/13 over in Japan land and there is diddly squat as to news.
Capcom moved to distance itself from reports emanating from the Nihon Keizai Shimbun, suggesting that the Japanese publisher will report a 43% increase in profit for FY06.
Strong sales for both Monster Hunter Portable titles throughout Japan, along with overseas success with the likes of Dead Rising and Lost Planet: Extreme Conditions are expected to drive success for Capacom, though the publisher has commented that it is still concluding its financials and an official statement will be made soon.
Are we absolutely certain Mikami doesn't work for Capcom still, he's so hard to pin down...
I hate the lead up to these damn things. First, rumours start flying around about a Dead Rising 2 announcement and I get all excited, then Capcom dashes my hopes with denials of any such pending announcement... I just want some solid info, dammit! Some solid info, and a chance to kill me some zombies.
It looks like the whole Gamers Day thing has kicked off as well because it says "Gamers Day Version," so there will probably be some other cool stuff arriving soon. The video lasts about three minutes and really is fucking awesome. Definitely has a House of the Dead vibe going for it and it mostly takes place within the mansion from the first Resident Evil. The game seems to have a really cool arcade feel to it, the zombies and other enemies seem like they are pretty tough to take out, there are plenty of destructible environments, the weapon you are using is always shown in the top corner and you can switch out instantly, the game has an element like the action button (it seems if you stun a zombie you can counterattack), it has more of those great interactive cutscenes, and the game looks really good so far.
Interesting choice for the visuals too with the black and white/faded color look the game has going for it. Looks like it works really well though. Hahaha, even has the pretty bad B movie dialog too in places. "I bet his mouth isn't so tough."
Edit: Oops, from the link you will have to click off the 1up Show and go to the video on the side.
I like that there is a scene dedicated to taking out that damn zombie dog that scares the shit out of you by suddenly jumping through that hallway window in the RE remake for GameCube.
Instantly changing weapons in a light gun game is awesome too. Very nice shotgun blast to that last zombie in the armory and how it knocked him back a couple feet. This game just looks incredibly fun to play.
The conference call announcing all the Gamers Day stuff was quite long today. Lots of good stuff was reported, and at least one thing that was rumored "talked about"...I think Kohler will be reporting on it all OMG like. :P
I think Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix is going to absorb my soul.

Go make your own thread!
Also, find me some damn answers to what the hell happened today.
Apparently I have strange and magical powers.

Where'd you hear that though?
Well, first of all, Capcom Gamer's day happens in San Francisco, not Japan. Secondly, NDA for it last till next friday.
I guess this thread can go into stasis until then.
Luke Smith.
Edit: Er, spaghetti and meat ball, if you're more comfortable with that analogy.
Electronic composer for hire.
Go back to Russia
A guy can dream, right?
Also: a week for NDAs? Seriously? I don't really get why it'd be a huge deal if the public got it a week in advance.
To built tension, I guess.
Mainly for the info to get prepared for proper disperssion through the various medias so they can get as much coverage as possible.

And you know what? That builds on the Wii's core strengths perfectly.
Plus the laser sight/reticle in UC is shit hot.
Fix'd.
Although I'd much rather somebody other than Capcom develop it.

I'm hoping they add more inbetween frames though.
Or have have Cammy in her Alpha uniform.
