    Short answer: You're right.

Long answer: several years ago, i got an interesting sum of money through perfectly legal means and that money has been growing since thanks to my old money guy.

I've come to the decision that in order to have money we need a money guy. So I've found one I think will work, I know his resume and I like him so, I'm hopeful. We'll start talking to him in February.

Partly to fix our credit (or lack thereof, in my case) and to start making our money make some money...'cause money be some lazy ass shit, yo, gotta make that bitch earn its keep

Question: is there ever "enough" money? If so, what does that mean?

Like, for me, it's being able to fix the house (it needs work), meet all of our bills, the ability to go do stuff like PAX without fear, and being able to be generous without impacting the aforementioned list.

I'm betting it's a different answer for everybody, at least on some level.

Wow. It would be almost a 20% reduction in hours.

I mean, is new FIRM more stable than old FIRM?

Cause old FIRM seemed pretty stable.

Honestly, better pay plus faster track to the top plus less hours seems like an absolute no brainer unless there is something terrible like no vacation hours or once a year they kill an employee at random.

I dunno, random murder as part of the job description seems pretty reasonable if the rest of it holds together.

cooked cream of cabbage soup tonight, sort of using the same principle of the creme dubarry thing i did last night.

saute yellow onion and cabbage in butter, add flour and cook off the rawness, deglaze with sherry, add water and simmer until tender.

meanwhile in separate pan sauté minced celery, carrots and julienned cabbage in butter.

when cabbage in the simmering pot is tender, add heavy cream + puree.

    combine all ingredients

    it is excellent

    this thread reminds me

i got a burg yesterday in a restaurant. The cute waitress was ringing it up and this is exactly how our conversation went

her: Any plans for the evening?
me: Not too much, just going to watch the match. Yourself?
her: Gonna go home and study.
me: Oh cool, what are you studying?
her: Economics, sociology and philosophy. We're covering social inequality and prejudices at the minute
me: OH COOL, I LOVE SOCIAL INEQUALITY

and that was the end of that
