    With the benefit of 12 years of hindsight, I'm bothered a little bit by the question of how Gabe and Tycho are able to even carry on this conversation. I get that Tycho not wanting to go outside was kind of a recurring thing in the earlier days of the comic, but could he even really hear what Gabe is saying from inside, through the window? Ah well.

    On the bright side, as I look at it again I do really like how the first two panels are composed to show Gabe's movement as he rolls up the snowball across the yard and Tycho remains still at the window watching him.

    Maybe they live in a crap shack with poorly insulated windows and walls that don't muffle sound that well.
