hey, i remember a while back seeing that there was 2 different art styles for the box and cartridge of link to the past. does anyone know if there is any difference besides the art? like gameplay or extra content or anything. or maybe one is just an earlier version and thats the only reason for the different art.

That was a terrible thread title and I'm mad at you because I clicked on it, because I don't give a shit about Zelda.

Ok, ok, to be helpful: That straight gold one looks like shit. Maybe the cover art was redesigned to make the game look more alluring on store shelves. The science of cover art and product design is fascinating if you ever have the time to look into it.

Edit: Holy shit that Nintendo badge is fucking huge. Also, the bottom box has a rating on it. When did ratings start showing up on console games en masse? Maybe that was another reason for a redesign.

The thing that sticks out to me is the ESRB rating on the second box. LttP came out prior to the ESRB, that hit towards the latter half of the SNES's lifespan. I strongly suspect that the second is a greatest hits-ish re-release towards the end of the console's lifecycle.

the second one is a rerelease under Nintendo's Player's Choice program.

I know everyone else is telling you that, but I am making it official

Arrow+Bomb, right? I remember that in the Game Boy one. Never played this, I'll fix that when I find a Wii.

I liked Minish Cap. Cutting the bushes. Getting the Kinstones. Talking to cows. All little and stuff.

I stopped playing Minish Cap when I got to the air temple or whatever. The last part of the game. Every so often I see the game in my GBA case and I think about how I should just put it in and beat it already, but then I'm like "nah" and I go play something else.

Now that the OP's question has been answered, can I ask what other GBA Zelda games I should check out if I liked Minish Cap? What are the GB and GBC games like?

Bomb Arrows are only in Link's Awakening and Twilight Princess.

Link's Awakening is godly. It rivals the console games in awesomeness.

Oracle of Ages and Seasons are great games as well. I don't know why they have a bad reputation... I played Seasons first, loved it, and a few years later picked up Ages. Since I had the password from Seasons, I got some awesome items and stuff from Ages such as the Master Sword. Plus there are additional quests and bosses when you've finished one already.

Personally, I think the GB(C?) Zelda games suffered from the lack of buttons. An extra button or two for the sword and whatever else would have helped quite a bit. Other than that, yeah.
