It's an 18GB patch that is estimated at 12 hours.

I highly suspect that is a problem on your end, either in the last mile to your residence or at your ISP. I have downloaded Diablo 3: RoS and Batman: Arkham Knight, games that are close to 40 gigs each, and The Last of Us: Remastered, which I believe is over 40 gigs, in under 12 hours.
It has to do with Destiny, actually. Technically, the PS4 is keeping it up to date. Its just that on Launch of the software, Destiny does a file check and then downloads more files if they need patching. Since the information about there being an update is within Destiny rather than the files being stored at Sony, the only thing the PS4 can patch is the launcher updates.

Yeah, the destiny patch didn't go like they usually do. maybe if the update is over a certain size it's not allowed to auto start dl in rest mode.
It does seem to stop updating games after a while. Not sure what the rational is, since I have it set to display everything always.
They finally put up Dynasty Warriors: Gundam Reborn -and- the DLC bundle this time, rather than just the latter, which confused me to no end when it happened.

I get speeds like that on Steam, but PSN is always slow. The Destiny patch took around six hours, with estimates at times pushing 30.

It is a Digital week, this week. I, uh...I don't know anything about any of those things, really. SOMA and Blood Bowl 2 will likely get some attention (people liked Blood Bowl, right?) and Afro Samurai gets a sequel (the start of one anyway, it seems) that I don't think anybody saw coming. Maybe it'll be good, I don't know.
Anyone know how the Pirate Warrior games are? Might pick up the first and/or second one.

I want to like Blood Bowl. Played the first one, and just couldn't wrap my head around the turn based nature of it. I wish it just played like a straight up football game. Like Madden or Mutant League Football...
Or like playing competitive solitaire craps with a guy punching you in the face once in a while.
I read this as "Extreme Eroticism."
Which is probably an entirely different game.
You were probably thinking about the Castlevania Pachinko game.

Yeah the thing about it you have to keep in mind going in, is that it's a warhammer pen and paper's approach to football, not a football game's take on the warhammer universe.
But man, a real-time football in the warhammer universe would really be something if done well.
That's just it, I haven't really played Dynasty Warriors. Loves me some One Piece, though.

I think the spin off games like Gundam, One Piece, and Hyrule Warriors are better than the base Dynasty Warriors series. You get something fresh and new instead of the same old retelling of exagerated Chinese history over and over and over. Some people find that the gameplay gets stale pretty quick, though. There usually isn't much more to it than easily decimating hordes of weak enemies, taking control of forts, and the occasional bossfight. I think they're great games to play when you just want to sit there and chill out, and the flashy special attacks never get old. If you love the source material, I say go for it.
Yeah, I picked up the first one. I figure that one's cheaper, and a good way to test out if I'll enjoy the others. Thanks for the help.

The first one also didn't do a great job of introducing and highlighting rules. It kinda tried to make them "just work" in the background like modern cRPGs, but it seemed like you really had to read a manual to understand why all your plays were rubbish.
At least I'm future proofed or will be one it arrives and I've managed to install it!

FIFA!!
And SOMA and Blood Bowl 2, I guess.
This is something I didn't think would happen!
This makes me as giddy as when Suikoden II hit the store.

It doesn't forgive the lack of a new Mega Man game though.
And yes, NotMegaMan No. 9 has been a disaster in handling.

Might pick up that Remastered edition just to play through that game again. I remember liking the story and the core idea, but the combat got incredibly tiresome by the fourth act of the game. I know they cut down on the amount of combat compared to Uncharted, but there was still way too much combat.
Are all PS1 games compatible with the Vita? I want Megaman Legends to be! Oh please oh please!
Most are
But specifically yes, this one is

So it's looking like Afro Samurai 2 is going to be a trilogy of episodes, which has never been a bad idea before, and you can buy them all upfront and wait for them, Telltale Style. Blood Bowl 2, Laserlife, Penarium and SOMA come out for PS4 as promised, Skylanders Superchargers and EA Sports FIFA '16 drop for PS4 and PS3 both, and the Vita gets Heroes of Loot and Rally Copters, the latter of which is Cross-Buy with PS4.
The sales look like a blend of Batman and Assassin's Creed which is funny to me, but it's not a bad sale on top of that.
It's only a "disaster" if you had overly-high expectations. So there have been delays; whatever. My expectation was that at some point in the next five years I'd get a video game in return for my $20 investment, and we're still on track for that. Video game creation has proven to be a hellish and complicated beast; that anything gets created at all still impresses me.
Anyway, the PAL PSN has a fairly large sale going on which includes Batman Arkham Knight, TLOU Remastered, inFamous SS, Magicka 2 and a variety of other PS4 games. There's also a classics sale (PS1 and PS2 classics plus HD remasters) and digital sale but they don't really list most of those. Here's the link:

I think I'll probably buy Syberia 1 and 2 and Hatoful Boyfriend.
Puzzle: Star Sweep was probably my favorite from that bunch, though, just because of how weird it was and how little effort they put into localization.
Also very hard in single player.

I bought Last of Us because of the deal and when I go to download it, it won't start the download. I start to see a bar for a split second and then it just goes back to the game page.
Edit: PSN support says it's server issues with the game. Guess I'll try again in a few hours. Bummer.
