Arrow is a show on CW entering it's third season. Why should you watch? Because it's pretty darn good Superhero TV series. It's what The Cape aspired to be and failed. It's what Smallville could never be. It's the story of Oliver Queen, notorious party boy has been presumed dead for the last five years. Upon returning, the City's favorite son has a mission. To punish those who have failed his city.
Arrow FAQ:
Q: Do I need to know anything about Green Arrow to enjoy the show?
A: No. It's an origin story that they've spread out over three seasons and likely more. The show is really intended to be very friendly to new viewers who know nothing about the character at all. Or anything else in the DC universe.
Q: If I know Green Arrow, will I be bored?
A: Nope. They have taken some liberties. Just enough changes to make it unpredictable but not so much as to ruin the spirit. A lot of classic villains have been reimagined but while keeping them pretty true to the core nature. The show is really great about understanding the spirit of the comics without being overly slavish in their devotion.
Q: Is this full of silly gadgets and Arrow mobiles?
A: Kinda. There are some gadget arrows but Ollie isn't using any boxing glove arrows except that one time. Mostly it's stuff like arrows with recorders and zip line arrows. And it's really the Arrow Cycle.
Q:What about the supporting cast?
A: We've got a couple.
John Diggle. Bodyguard. Sidekick. Moral center point.
Felicity Smoak. Hacker. Gadget Guru. Arrow's Oracle.
Roy Harper. Arsenal.
And a number of others.
Q: I hear Steven Amell takes off his shirt a lot.
A: Pretty much every episode. Honestly, if I had those abs I wouldn't wear a shirt either. In more current seasons this toned down a bit.

Q: I missed the first season. Will I be lost?
A: We live in the age of Netflix.
http://movies.netflix.com/WiMovie/70242081?strkid=1855807268_0_0&trkid=222336&movieid=70242081 It's on instant watch.
Q: So maybe I want to read some Green Arrow Comic books, where do I start?
A: I'd start with The Longbow Hunters. It's a standalone graphic novel about Ollie going back to his roots. It also serves as a bit of inspiration for the show. DC just put it out in digital form. Also Green Arrow Year One is an updated origin story. Green Arrow: Archer's Quest is about Ollie returning from the dead and collecting various bits of his past that might give away his identity. An excellent story and a solid overview of the Emerald Archer's history. Quiver was Kevin Smith's take on Green Arrow and it's pretty much the exact opposite of Smith's Batman. And of course the classic Hard Traveling Heroes from the Green Lantern/Green Arrow series. Ollie and Hal road trip across the US being friends. Also Ollie spends most of the time rubbing Hal's nose in how much of a dick he is.
Q: When is it on?
A: Wednesdays at 8 P.M. on the CW.
Q: Is this tied into the fucking terrible DC movies?
A: Oh god no. Thank god.
Q: I like comics. Should I watch this?
A: Yes. Seriously.
Q: Should I totally bring up the idea that if Arrow just killed every fucking villain then it would all be good?
A: The Arkham debate is an old one. It's been brought up the entire time I've been a comics fan. It's been done a billion times in a billion comic book fan discussion. It's one of those things that's been driven so far into the ground that we had a funeral for it. The odds of anyone having an original thought on it at this point is unlikely. So when ever you feel like bring it up, keep in mind two very important facts.
1. It's a TV show. Recurring villains are a thing.
2. It's based on comic books. Heroes aren't the only ones who come back from the dead.

Copy and Pasted OP is obvious. Arrow is on its third season now.
Just sayin'

On that note, I'm amused that because of Arrow's rather hilarious use of engrish that this is even a question and not just an obvious typo.

I'm working on a cute little video game! Here's a link for you.
Other than Hulu being dumb and now I can't catch up on it any more.
I have become highly, highly invested in OlliexFelicity. Like, TWILIGHT levels of terrible invesment. I did not know my brain was capable of this, but I found out it was, when
I immediatly stopped watching. Like literally shut down Hulu and have not watched a single episode since. Not because I hate Arrow. I freakin LOVE Arrow. It's just apparently I'm that invested.
I've been keeping up with spoilers though, somewhat though. So, Arrow thread, question...
Because if so, I can watch again. I will hate every second of it but as long as OlliexFelicity is the only wimmens drama going on I think my heart can take poorly done and completly overwrought soap opera nonsense
Makes too much sense, no the W's will probably put a brand new show that sucks on after both to try and get the audience to transfer and it won't work.

Sadly, one of those shows might be Atom. I'm still not sold on a third show.
Just currently they have supernatural after flash, and the 100 on after arrow and neither show makes sense. Hell if anything arrow makes more sense as a 9pm show because of the violence. Though I appreciate the current scheduling because it means on tuesday right now I can watch agent carter after Flash.

Don't know if this was posted in the old thread, but there's a rumor that Ramsey is neither confirming nor denying that they may be turning him into the WB TV universe Green Lantern.
I'd be psyched to see Diggle finally get his mask.
pleasepaypreacher.net
Oh god, could we get an entire crossover season where he and Ollie road trip across the country?
And all of it mysteriously looks just like vancouver.

I'd like to see Diggle, Ollie, and Barry just looking at Roy and Ollie just says "Shut up Meg..."
I kind of got the opinion that they basically retconned that to his issues in S2, but I guess anything is possible. The only way I'd see him turning to heroin is if Thea died or something.
Roy's gonna have trouble finding mirakuru again.
pleasepaypreacher.net
I thought they chose Mirakuru because Roy being a heroin addict wasn't going to fly with CW. The one street drug they do have on the show is fictional.
Seriously. I've actually paused and rewound scenes where he's emoted to a line someone else gives before they deliver it. Like completely missed his mark. It's happened more than once. Also he's fond of Matt LeBlanc's "smell the fart" style of acting.
People have liked to speculate that Diggle is one green lantern in particular, John Stewart. For non-comic book fans one characteristic of John is that he doesn't wear a mask.
Look man, if you told me 3 years ago we'd be getting Flash, Supergirl, and Teen Titans shows all in the same universe and that we'd be seeing Brandon Routh as The Atom on Arrow, I'd have said you were fucking nuts.
I want to believe.
Diggle being Green Lantern means he won't be on Arrow, he'd too powerful as a super-hero. Team Arrow will have nothing to do.
I am totally okay with a Green Lantern spinoff. Don't underestimate my willingness to populate the entire tv landscape with Justice League components.
even if it takes an entire season
hell two seasons
three
I would do whatever it takes for digglantern
SEE HOW QUICKLY IT TAKES HOLD?
