I switched to Miralax this morning because it was making me have a violent gag response. I dunno why on earth they wouldn't just prescribe this method when it's a thousand times easier and I'm already halfway done with my morning prep with no issues.
but yeah last night I tried adding lemon, adding lemon and lemon simple syrup, one disastrous occasion mixing it with chicken broth at the recommendation of the internet, I ended up being most successful by laying my tongue on the outside of a cup and pouring it basically straight down my throat

e: I think this sounds way more cynical than I intend it to, honestly I'm hopeful that a lot of it is from having my psoriasis untreated so long and my inflammatory response is shitting the bed and starting a new biologic will really help clear up a lot of this stuff
I hate to sound alarmist, but this fearmongering over opioid scripts seems like it's getting worse. Many of my friends in the chronic pain world are scared they're going to lose access to their medications, including people a lot worse off than me. My doctor even admitted he's not sure how much longer he'll have the freedom he has now, even with non Medicare patients.
It's all coming from the fear that guidelines for primary care physicians will be made into law for all physicians, and this time I'm not sure they're wrong. I hope they are, but I'm not as confident as I've been in the past. We'll know more after the third, but there's no guarantee that's the end of it. I know there's an epidemic but I still don't see how that's my problem.
So the insurance company of the guy who ran me over and shattered two of my limbs finally came back to my lawyers and said they'll only pay 20,000$ of the 70,000$ and climbing bill. And my lawyers are ok with that.

Nah you gotta get in line, but some debts still can get ahead in line like if they're secure transactions. A judgement for fraud or intentional injury are non dischargeable but texting while driving, while a goosey thing to do is probably not enough.
Caveat : I haven't practiced law in ten years so my memory is probably foggy.

In Illinois the medical dispensaries are holding what are essentially free information seminars, except at the end they have volunteer doctors there to sign people up. The thought is the pilot program has a better shot at becoming law the more people are registered, and I don't disagree necessarily. I just hope they're not in any legal gray area

Tomorrow, epidural steroid injection into my L5-S1. Later this month, in order, having a cyst/scar tissue thing cut out of my shoulder blade, CT scan for a renal mass, and EMG on my left leg.

I'm mostly grumpy about the EMG, because I live within walking/limping distance of my local hospital campus, but the EMG is all the way over in Bellevue and I don't have a car so it's gonna be long public transit rides there and back. The back is going to be worse because from what I understand an EMG leaves the limb sore as fuck from all the electrical muscle stimulation.
Nothing quite underscores the level of pain you get in like "Oh, no I can't go out with dinner with ya'll. I couldn't last the full 30-45 minutes without having to peace out."
Oh, and I have been having to fight my insurance recently about my hospital visit because apparently they don't wanna pay because I didn't meet their standards for an admission or some shit.

Insurance companies seem to think that a trip to the ER is like an upscale spa day they're footing the bill for. Anything they can use to disqualify you from needing to be there they'll jump on it.
Whenever I have to fight with them about the ER I go out of my way to emphasize that it's the last place in the world I ever want to be, so if I willingly show up there I'm completely out of options for treating my pain. Unless I show up unconscious in the back of an ambulance, (which has happened) the fact that I chose to go there should be all the proof they need that it was medically necessary.

The workman's comp insurance company's bright idea for getting my fiancee back to work was to get her the same kind of mobility scooter she got injured on in the first place. Which wouldn't be quite so bad if it wasn't the same shitty suggestion they gave us a month ago.
We suggested they might want to workshop that idea a bit more before they come back to us again. But in a much less polite way.
We also got to take a trip to urgent care for stitches this week, so it's been a blast.
my psychiatric nurse is moving to a new branch farther away (probably not onerously so), and she is definitely encouraging and helpful and i like her tho she's a touch flaky. but she also endorses the people replacing her, and one of 'em seems like she might be a good fit, as well. so i'm gonna work with one of the new ladies for a couple sessions to see how that goes instead of overthinking it (note: too late, but this is the conclusion.)
also, referral for neuropsych assessment is being processed; fingers crossed! blows my mind that --for insurance purpose-- mental health issues can be divorced from neurochemical imbalance, and dementia could be covered but not ADHD.
EKG and bloodwork is good, so i can try the next scary brain drug that might improve my life like whoa. anyone wanna PM me experiences with their ADD meds? (as a big baby scaredycat, i think it's good info to share publicly, but a) i think i'm skating that fine line between seeking advice on medical issues/navigating healthcare, and using the forums for emotional/mental support, and 2) controlled substance, yo.)
downside: cholesterol even higher than November's, aaaaand went from dangerously low Vit D to "nearly toxic"! ...i literally forgot that i was dropping my dosage after January, and reverted to the initial, elevated one; at least the depression isn't just a lack of Vit D! not an easy solution, but at least it's information. also, PCP was like, "Your heart rate's a bit elevated. You might be a bit anxious." the Most Droll.
talk therapy-wise, if y'all connect with Taoism (or poss. Zen), i highly recommend looking into the ACT/Mindfulness modality. gentle ass-kicking to TCB. which in my case means basic maintenance like getting back with a dentist and OBGYN, sigh.
