This thread is to help compile a list of all those handy art blogs out there full of great tips and tutorials.
Please give a brief description of each blog along with the link.
A collective blog of fantasy illustrators including Dan Dos Santos, Jesper Ejsing, Donato Giancola, David Palumbo, Gregory Manchess, Petar Meseldžija, and others. Has a great collection of art step by steps, illustration, and art business tips, from some of the best in the business.
James Gurney's (the creator and illustrator of the Dinotopia series of books) blog. Has a tremendous amount of information about academic painting, art history, illustration, and general art principles of all stripes. Probably the single best blog on art that I've come across.
Lines and Colors
Updated daily with a selection of images from a different artist- modern and old, commercial and fine art. It's an excellent resource for daily inspiration and finding new artists.
A blog by Andreas Deja, the lead animator for Gaston from Beauty and the Beast, Jafar from Aladdin, Scar from The Lion King and Hercules. Mostly covers animation and Disney related topics, and has a great look at the raw pencil animation/sketchwork of some of the all-time greats of animation. If you have any interest in Disney, animation, or cartooning in general, it's worth checking out.
Character Design References
A huge collection of reference images, including anatomy references, model sheets, clothing references, poses, animals, environments, etc.
A collection of videos and step-by-steps of artist's processes. Mostly focused on illustration, concept art, and painting.
Amber Blade Jones' collection of various hints, tutorials, etc. from across the web.
