Radeon TV output - help needed

Hi All,
I'm wondering if I could get some help with this.
I'm trying to connect my radeon 9800 pro card (yes, old, I know), to my standard def TV via a s-video cable. The problem is the card doesn't detect that it's a standard def, and is trying output a progressive hi-def signal.
I've read this post:

Which suggests adding a 75 ohm resistor to the ground wire. I'm unsure if this is completely necessary. I would assume that via some setting, somewhere. The problem is, I don't know where this setting is. If anyone has any experience with this I'd really appreciate it.
