    I feel like a lot of people don't seem to realize a pace is actually 2 steps. Like in movies when someone is following an old treasure map that says 100 paces north or something like that they'd totally be walking about half the correct distance.

    On every panel where Malachi is counting, except the last one where he lost count, he is leading with his left foot. Maybe he is counting paces.

    When Brian doesn't have his hands in his hoddie, he looks like he's in some sort of trance.

    Also, is that Malachi Jr, waiting for Malachi Senior to come home and feed him?!?

    172 (assuming there are no other interruptions and he counted correctly), I got beat to it, that was my first thought. I estimate about 180 steps to the cabin. I'm trying to think if that number (172, the one we know for sure, though it looks like he's on his 173 step) is meaningful in this context. Any maths wizards have any ideas? I'm not even going to start on what the gemetria could be =P. If anyone else were to build a map, at least now we know how far the lake is, maybe that's meaningful info.

    Reminds me of when I was a teen living in a small town. I used to go up into the local mountains by myself on my dirt bike. I explored all the old trails and kept a map of them. The distances between junctions I kept track of via the odometer on the bike. Wish I still had that old map......

    For those comenting on Brian, I think it's just that on other pages, we could see the tops of his eyes. (For the most part. I went back to the first few pages and that seemed to be the only difference I saw.) His eyes are just much wider on this page, and his bangs are covering the tops of his eyes.

    Though in some scenes the shadow of his hair covers his face partially, Brian does seem to have bags under his eyes.

    Vivirouce - that kind of makes sense, but I still feel like he looks scared/creeped out like s**t. Most of the pages in season 1, if you look at his eyes, he just looks kind of bored or disinterested. Here, the fact that his pupils are smaller and he has bags under his eyes (?)...

    Chapter 1 ends on comic #175. It's possible that is related. It is comic #173 that Malachi sees the fire beacon. Although I think it's most likely that 172 or 173 is just random and has no actual significance.
