Regarding Pax East coming up I was fired up for finally getting two things crossed off my to-do list. 1) Visit Boston/MA 2) Go to Pax East. In my excitement I accidentally booked my flight an entire day early from when I can check into my now fully god damn booked hotel.

No ones fault but mine obviously but now i'm stuck figuring something out. Curious if anyone has recommendations for cheap Boston crashing. A VERY quick search revealed that some local hotels near the airport would run $150ish for the night. This unfortunately is not within my budget as is the $200 change date fee from Delta (called and spoke to them about it).

Some Ideas I had were craigslist, couch surfers (website where you pay to host and visit other members where you crash at their place, never used it though but thought it interesting) and just walking into hotels seeing if they had specials the night of.

Any advice would be helpful and yes, I'm an idiot the wide eyed "OMFG" I let out at work is still allowing my co-worker to chuckle about my stupidity. At least someones day is a little bit better!

There's always AirBnB, although they might not have much because of the convention. I haven't looked.

This thread might be useful as well; it's in the PAX East section of the forums for people looking to find or fill a space in a room with other people going to PAX.

And it seems like all is dying, and would leave the world to mourn

It's a hostel so probably not great. But it'll be a relatively cheap bed for the night which is pretty much the point of hostels.
