Ive been running a fully upgraded Scythe, but I think I need to pull down something with armor piercing. I was running a Borg planet with an assassination mission, and it seemed like I couldn't put a freaking dent in the dude. I suppose I could call a EAT17 or something, but I like my stratagem balance of T3 UAV, T3 Mech, T2 mines, and T3 turret.
Recoilless launcher is extremely good for me, one shot kill on everything so far and two folks with them reloading each other have silly firepower.
EAT seemed handy to me at first but even fully upgraded I couldn't kill tank classes in one shot reliably. I loved the advantage of not worrying about gear gankers or having to leave a heavy weapon behind. However, party's having that much trouble are generally doomed from my experience.

You also feel fantastic when your group starts running from the tank and you know got this
Got to try out some vehicles last night. Still don't have my own mech, but my brother does and he let me try it out. I guess it controls the same as a Helldiver, but turns slower? I was having trouble steering.
"We have to go defend this missile, you sure you got that?" he says.
There I am in a clearing, trying to walk straight, but spinning in infinite slow circles. "Uhh... yup!" I say. He just sighs into the mic.
Then waiting for evac, we're holding off bugs with about 25 seconds left. Horde dies down, and I realize that the left trigger fires missiles! *foontfoontfoontfoontfoont!* I fire all but two of them into nothingness.
"Stop! What if a bugtank shows up before the dropship?" he says. Silence for a second or two and then *foontfoont* I fired the last two and we burst into laughter.
Then on a snow planet(I hate the goddamn snow planets) he busts out his APC. I get on the main turret and we drive to the bug nest objective. I stay on the turret and he calls in the nuke. "Bring the APC a little closer before I arm this." he says. Cue an obscenely long Austin Powers type situation as I try to position the APC where he wanted. Good times!
Everyone has a price. Throw enough gold around and someone will risk disintegration.
Yeah, I kind of wish the mech had tank controls instead of the point where you want to aim. I also don't like how it auto rotates to always face forward.
I keep getting in low level games with traitorous helldivers, but my faith is firm in Managed Democracy and I hesitate not when they try to shield the enemy with their own bodies!

You'd think, if anything, video games teach you to keep away from stuff that's flashing red. :?
This game is amazing and I was surprised to see such little talk about it. Gabe brought it up at the draw a comic panel during pax east, and like 3 people raised their hands that they have heard of it at all. Giant Bomb bumped it a bit, but Brad was lead on the quicklook and was mixed on it. "mixed" is the wrong opinion on this game(the rest were super positive it seemed).
I was turned off at first because it sounded overly difficult, but once me and a friend started playing, It wasn't nearly as "grind you into powder" as I thought it would be. It's magicka with starship troopers, almost to the letter with the coop shenanagins and writing. So good.
Yeah, if you don't want to make the game hard for yourself you can just stay in the lower difficulties which is still pretty fun. I've been playing in the 9-10 difficulty range lately and it gets really chaotic and is tons of fun.
The shotgun is fine provided you aren't trying to be precise with it. I haven't tried the second shotgun yet, but apparently it has a narrower arc of fire.
Also, just a note that I think a lot of people don't notice. When you are on the ground you can call in Strategems as wells as fire your hand gun. It's very handy if you are quick enough to toss out the call-down strategem and save your team. Or you be the real hero and drop a strafe or something on yourself because that's how real Helldivers get shit done.

That's why the Offical Helldivers Targeting Becon"TM comes sewn directly into the "Offical Helldivers Universal Undergarment"TM.

Additionally, found out yesterday that you can get into the dropship when downed. Likely when prone too, but haven't tried that one.

Side note to this, get killed with throwable strategem and it drops where you die.
Had some ungodly friendly fire sprees when I getting killed by friendly fire before arty beacon got thrown. Had a level 1 mission fail on extraction yesterday when mech call down killed one, Newby then popped me with panic fire, and my unthrown arty beacon polished the last two guys while the shuttle pilot was on final approach. Three of us were over rank 10... we laughed for a good 5 minutes at the orgy of friendly fire.

I've been adding people to the OP Friends List as I see them in the thread or sigs/receive PMs.
If I'm on I'm almost always down to group up just send me an IM or invite on PSN.

not sure if it's been discussed yet, but if you're playing it on PS4 play with your controller plugged in or at least don't let it die while you're playing.

Having a blast with the game as well. My biggest grip right now, beside the less than stellar matchmaking and the joining friends games bug, is the fact that I cannot continue my game from the PS4 to the Vita.
It just seems like both platform are not looking at the same place for the save. I confirm that my saves are uploaded immediated to PS+ cloud from my PS4 but when I check on my Vita, and the game currently uploaded, it's not it (way older version from a single game I played on my vita at first). Too bad because I'd love to be able to play some more on my Vita but I don't want to start all over.
My fellow Super-Earthians, as I sit back drinking a fresh brewed cup of liber-tea, reading the Super Earth Times and absorbing the soothing government regulated brain waves, I'd like to take a moment to say a prayer for the 8,112,345 Helldivers who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our way of life. Those brave recruits will be sorely missed. And while some may say that those lives are irreplacable, I know the stone-cold truth of the matter is that they MUST be replaced to spread managed democracy throughout the galaxy. So @Nips, @Buttcleft, @HydroSqueegee@Elvenshae and @MWO thread peeps in general, look into your hearts (and wallets for $20), and think about joining the Helldivers.
Second, fuck you I don't have any money don't make me notice awesome fun games

I would jump on this in a heartbeat, but it does not exist on a platform that I own! I was legitimately made sad when I discovered it was only on Sony platforms. Seriously, PCs! What the heck Sony?

Can you play local coop with only one PS+ account? My buddy and I played and he had to use the guest account's 2-day Plus pass to join my local game.
If Helldivers works the same as Diablo III then you should be able to play online. As long as there is an account that lists that PS4 as primary and has PS+ then every account on there should be able to play online.

I don't trust anybody who brings a shotty now.
1. Bug jumps/burrows into the middle of us.
2. Sega and HellaJeff turn towards it.
3. I say "don't do it!"
4. DEAD.
Managed Democracy at its finest.
