PS3 keeps signing out of PSN Network
Hey all. My fairly old PS3 has started to be unable to connect to the PSN network. This usually happens after the device has been on for an hour or so and results in the PS3 kicking me out of Hulu/Netflix/HBO Go. Restarting the machine will sometimes help, but not always.
Most often, the machine throws up error code 80710102, which Google tells me is a DNS issue. It's starting to get really annoying, and before I try factory resetting the PS3 and/or sending it in to get repaired, is there anything more I can do?
Factors that might matter:
- We moved states a couple of months ago, and this never happened before we moved. The provider (Comcast) is the same, just a different location.
- The cable modem is new and has not changed.
- The router is fairly old, but hasn't caused any problems for any other devices (connected or wireless). I use DD-WRT custom firmware.
- The PS3 is connected via ethernet cable to the router. I have replaced the ethernet cable and switched the port to which the PS3 was connected.
Things I have tried but have failed to correct the problem:
- I have switched from automatic DNS to OpenDNS on my router.
- I gave the PS3 a static IP address.
- I enabled DMZ for the PS3's static IP.
Any thoughts?

edit: Like on the Ps3 settings themselves , not the router
Had a similar problem with PSN on my PS4. I also resolved the issue by setting DNS settings on the PS4 to Google DNS. Though sometimes I still think Comcast has a hissy fit and throttles me when I use it to watch amazon prime or Netflix. It works mostly.
I'd personally try making sure your modem/firewall has uPNP enabled and if that doesn't help try putting your console on DMZ+ mode to eliminate the firewall as an issue. If DMZ+ just instantly fixes the issue I'd say its a port issue. If that doesn't work then try setting the IP and the DNS to a static address.
nice to know. I'll probably get it set up for my PC anyways tonight and enable it on the PS3 for good measure as well.
Current tack: I'm going to disable media streaming on the PS3, enable uPNP for the PS3 via the router (never been an issue before but I'll try it anyway), take it out of the DMZ (because it doesn't appear to be a ports issue) and play with several DNS settings in the router itself.
Once you are done with the testing you can always go back and turn off the "remember my password" option.
