Tag spoilers as needed! Let people go in blind if they can.

Apparently this is finally getting a wide release this weekend. I may go to the South Florida showing.

I dread horror, but the throwback synth and atmosphere seems too great to ignore.

You may want to avoid any details going in, but just in case...

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 93%
Directed by David Robert Mitchell

Also www.allcityx.com has bonus Richie Beckett posters. (Limited to 50 blue and 100 cream).

What are the spoiler rules for this thread? If it's for free discussion of the film, not having to tag everything is probably preferable, but it's up to you. Whatever you'd prefer, you should probably indicate it in the post or thread title.

I would say tag anything pertaining to the film. Heck, I think I know too much. Use good judgment.

    Just got back from it.

Yeah, it's a keeper. Very unsettling. Fantastic music, cinematography was on point too.

    Best part:
the school. The subtlety of its approach from outside as the camera pans around, and then it's just closer, in the background.

That scene had such a driving sense of paranoia to it. They did a really good follow fake out too.

The more I think about it, I realize the film's strength is respecting the audience's intelligence. So many scenes are ambiguous and left to the viewer's imagination.
Did she have sex with the people on the boat? Did he get a prostitute?
Does it even make any difference?

Sweet ambiance, legit scares, somewhat new and interesting premise. I enjoyed this. Ending was perhaps a bit weak, but I can't come up with a better.

    Plot spoilers:
I'd almost think you're better off not passing it to a rando or a hooker...at least if it's following you you can predict its movements. Whereas you have no idea when it will catch up to that hooker you passed it to, and come back to you.

That's why he initially makes sure Jay knows it's real, and what she has to do, in an effort to ensure she lasts as long as possible.

I also recommend open spoilers after page one, assuming it gets there, to make it easier to talk about it.
