A real bear is much, much tougher than your fake bear.
This is a fake bear. It is a very tough person but, incidentally, a pretty wimpy bear.
There are eight permanent companions. They can all die permanently so you can hire Npcs that you build yourself. There is a list up on the wiki of the story npc classes. The story party members all have quests to do and will react to your stuff.
The first npc you meet that is permanent is a wizard.
You can get three party members basically instantly. The wizard, the fighter, and the cleric.
Also I guess I can check the digitial manual/guide but are there dicerolls or an option to see them? Don't see it in the options.
if nothing else, if you want to try out all 11 classes in one playthrough, you'll need to make a rogue, a barbarian, and a monk yourself, since those classes aren't represented by any npcs
And man, is it nice to have a way to put bandaids on the gaps in your party like that.
Still mulling over a LP. I'd like to do one, but given that I'm going to have a baby soon and will eventually return to full-time school in a week (along with having to look for a job), I'm not entirely convinced I'd be able to see it through.
yeah man, if ya can't do it ya can't do it. i'm told that babies and education are generally more important than vidya games
From what I hear, your stronghold has a massive dungeon beneath it to explore. Semi-randomized, I want to say? Might be making that up.
DON'T SELL GEMS
I'm used to them being junk items, and offloaded a whole mess of them, then realized shortly thereafter that they're a big component in crafting/enchanting. Don't go chuckin' that topaz, bros and brodettes.
Don't sell that sapphire
don't retail that ruby
don't deal in that diamond
don't excise that emerald
SO MANY CLASSES
SO MANY THINGS TO TRY
Well there's only one REAL choice for race.
I am pretty sure you mean Death godlike.
I don't mean chanting, I mean chanting.
What next, I'm a Watcher, so I watch?
Pretty cool?!
Hey, Public Service announcement DO NOT GIS Angry Moon at work, or if your significant other is looking over your shoulder.
Awkward.
Can I create a woman rogue, but not a wimpy one? I want a rogue that isn't focused on sneaking around and avoiding enemies so much as insulting dudes three times her size so that they attack overconfidently just before she guts the fuck out of them.
Like, an agile, quick, trash-talking, I-don't-give-a-shit slayer of men.
So yes.
Durance is a real asshole but I'm finding him pretty interesting
Straight up remapped that shit right to my mouse.
But you'll get into big last-man-standing fights and you'll be wishing you had someone on healing duty.
Rogues don't have to be sneaky or evasive, and stealth only matters up until combat starts; in combat, rogues are all about inflicting negative status effects on targets and exploiting those statuses for extra damage. Keep in mind that Sneak Attack applies to all attacks made during the first two seconds of combat, so the rogue doesn't even have to be the one making a first strike from out of stealth to get extra damage. Once you get Riposte you could totally set up a Deflection-based tank-and-punish build on a rogue.
My paladin is passionate and benevolent, also honest and diplomatic on the side, and it's pretty neat. She just loves the shit out of helping people, even moreso if that help involves knocking the heads in of someone trying to bribe her.
but there is no healing. you can restore endurance, but you can't actually heal.
