It still kills me that he's wearing the exact same outfit he did on the indies.

That Grantland article is really good, but my favourite part is something I've talked about a bit (after hearing the AE Podcast guys talk about it):

one way the WWE can make it easier for fans to digest the increasingly large amount of weekly television is to have more variety. The homogenous WWE style has its pros, don't get me wrong, but it can become stale if every match is too similar. Seeing Kalisto and Neville debut on Monday gives me hope. I don't want every match to be high-flying, either, but to have a couple guys doing that style can only help break up the monotony of three hour Raws.

Likewise, if they give the women more time that will only add an extra dynamic. Tag division, too, and the introduction of the Lucha Dragons helps there too.

oh fuck I just remembered I forgot to watch last week's NXT. Something to do before the show tonight (although I don't think I'm going to watch it 'live' tonight because I want to watch the Penguins/Flyers game, so maybe I'll just marathon both episodes later tonight. hm.).

So it seems from that Grantland article that Brock Lesnar is quite the popular fellow
This is strange to me, as I previously only know him from his UFC career in which I was decidedly not a fan

We (mostly) like him because he is a monster that the normal rules and tropes of wrestling do not apply to.

I'm just glad Lesnar doesn't do any social media bullshit because it would probably be Jay Briscoe times 1000.

In the WWE he's allowed to be the entertaining spectacle he is without the threat of, you know, fights without predetermined outcomes.

He also doesn't talk a whole lot so you can ignore the fact that he's a massive homophobe.

(I'm being .. somewhat flippant here but I have complicated feelings about Brock, because I do find him entertaining but I don't actually 'like' him.)

a lot of people (myself including) like Lesnar's current run in wrestling because he breaks all the "rules" of wrestling

like in his match at wrestlemania, he hit his finisher in the first 30 seconds

he is written like a completely unstoppable monster who gives ZERO FUCKS about anything

brock lesnar is a terrifying cro-magnon mountain of muscle with a baby's head

in his off-time he runs naked through the woods of minnesota, flanked by a pack of wolves, leaping upon unsuspecting deer and ripping their hearts out of their chest cavities

I tell myself that his homophobic comments were made 11 years ago and that there's a chance he may have changed since then

the lack of any kind of apology contradicts that hope, but I want to give him the benefit of the doubt because he's so darn entertaining

If Cole is taking a sabbatical I hope they leave his shoe on the announce table until he returns.
