So I like my printer. It's got a scanner built in so I can make copies without a computer. This also gives it the benefit of not taking up a lot of desk space. And it only cost me fifty bucks.
What I don't like is that it's an inkjet, and ink is expensive. And I really don't care about printing photos (Walgreens works for that). I'd really like a combination laser printer/scanner, problem is most of the ones I see online go for $TEXAS.
Do affordable ($100-150ish) laser all-in-ones exist? who makes them?
For an extra $100 you get a flatbed scanner, better scanning resolution, a bigger auto-doc feeder, and an ethernet port, but lose the fax (well worth it, imo).
hmm, apparently Samsung makes what I'm looking for. Cnet has a pretty good review, most of the downsides are the lack of features like Fax that I really don't care about.
intriguing. The Cnet review notes that there really much competition at this price point. Anybody know of any other sub-200 laser printer-scanners?

However:
HP LaserJet 3050 - $299

HP LaserJet 3052 - $399
The 3050 currently has a $50 instant rebate, but if you're patient and wait for some sales, you could probably get the 3052 for $299.

Wow, that post sounds really shill-y.
