Bored of everything in my life

I am just bored of everything fun and dont know what to do, since October I have been feeling this way I have trouble staying motivated to do anything, even playing 2 straight matches of lets say a first-person shooter then I just want to shut off the game and I feel as if I cannot stay committed to anything, I have a therapist which i can tell is trying his hardest but I feel as if he simply cant help me, to be honest I just feel like a Spaztic Shell of a Gamer.

Then don't game for a bit. Go outside and do stuff, then come back when something interests you.

When was your last checkup with a doctor (excluding your therapist)? You might have depression.

not a doctor, not a lawyer, examples I use may not be fully researched so don't take out of context plz, don't @ me

I get this way sometimes also, but usually due not to the games but external pressures that cause me to find my games (and everything) unsatisfying. Seeing a doctor could help, and identifying any causes of stress that may have been nagging at you would also be a good idea.

This forum has a (good) knee-jerk reaction towards therapy for a reason. If something else is breaking at you emotionally it can cause problems in everything you do and love.

That said, I find that when I get in a mood like this games like Minecraft, art, or other things where you have quick "constructive" completion goals that give you something to show for your time help be feel better about time commitment. When you can say "dang, look what I did" and feel a sense of accomplishment, that typically helps me invest time. MMOs and shooters rarely help me in these moods because I feel my time is being wasted with the same thing over and over (which is usually the positive point of these games, but not when you are in one of these moods).

Either way, good luck and take care of yourself!

Can I ask what all you do that makes up "everything fun"?
If it's just video games, then try a different hobby for a while. Maybe join a gym, or attend some fitness classes or something. You could look into a nearby community college and take some courses that interest you, at the very least it would . Buy a GPS on eBay and go geocaching. Maybe just get a model to build. Put the games down for a while and find something else that's fun to do.

I get in kind of in the same boat myself sometimes. I just stop finding video games fun. On occasion, I'll run through a rift or some bounties in Diablo III, or run a mission in TIE fighter or maybe spend a half hour playing MoO2. Then I'd just be sick of staring at a screen and want to do anything else because there seems to be so little point to playing games.

Yup, that just happens occasionally if you've been gaming long enough. I love gaming and have been doing it for about 26 years now but there are days where I'll just stare at the screen and go "ehhhhh" even with stuff I really enjoy and need to finish installed and ready to rock.

Best thing to do is get some side hobbies. When I get like that I'll pull out one of my rapiers and do some drills, go shooting (archery or guns depending on my mood and the weather), go read through my comics backlog, or catch up on shows I'm behind on. After enough of a breather I usually get that itch to get some gaming hours logged and I'll gleefully get right back to it. I also find that due to the ole quirk of being introverted, socializing for a bit makes me scramble for the comforting glow of my battlestation after a bit so there's that too.

It's always good to branch out and get some new things to do on the side to help keep gaming fun and fresh. Otherwise burnout is kinda inevitable given enough time.

Same thing here, I get into those "no game is fun anymore" moods every now and then. What I do is switch to a diferent activity, I like drawing, so I do that, I go out, etc. And after a while you start feeling like playing again. It also helps me clear my mind and get some perspective about what games I was playing. I usually know when that kind of mood is coming, because I start looking for new games, and changing and trying new games almost daily, then I know its time to take a week off, so it doesnt feels like Ive already done everything that could be done in X or Y game.

Yes, with a quick verbal "boom." You take a man's peko, you deny him his dab, all that is left is to rise up and tear down the walls of Jericho with a ".....not!" -TexiKen

#1 you need to go outside. that's not a cliche. Taking walks and getting some fresh air can do a lot for mood. I lived alone for many years, and at one point I even worked from home too, and I would try to take a walk at least once every other day because I would get the same feelings of lethargy

#2 if games ain't workin then grab some movies or a book as change of pace

this is a discord of mostly PA people interested in fighting games: https://discord.gg/DZWa97d5rz

Go on a mini-adventure. Find a gamestore you've never been to on the other side of town and go explore it, or a restaurant with some funky cuisine you'd never try. Visit a museaum you've never been to. As I get older I get more jaded and stuck in my rut. Pretending I'm on an adventure and exploring some new aspect of my town tends to break the mood. Try doing it while humming the Indiana Jones theme for maximum fun.

Even just a half-hour daily walk around your neighborhood after breakfast will do wonders for your physical and mental health. Then there's things like c25k.
