Wii game for a six-year-old

ThunderSaidThunderSaid Registered User regular
I need to buy a birthday present for a (soon to be) six-year-old boy. His parents bought him a used Nintendo Wii (original, not Wii U), and he loves it, so I thought it might be nice to buy him a game for his birthday. Does anyone have a recommendation? Some details:

He enjoys Mario Party 8, Wii Sports, and Mario Kart.
Outside of video games, he plays (and apparently enjoys) T-ball
He likes trains, cars, and most things that would be stereotypically "for boys"
He has a three-year old brother who isn't quite able to play videogames for real, but likes to "play" with help from Mom and Dad, so major bonus points to multiplayer games.

De Blob, Rayman Raving Rabbids (any of them or the three in one version), Wario Ware Smooth Moves, Boom Blox, and Wii Party are all fun light games. All but de Blob are party games with some form of multi player. De Blob is a giant interactive coloring book.

Thank you. I hadn't heard of De Blob. I'll check it out. I own Boom Blox, and I've been thinking of it as a possibility.

Thank you. I don't know that he'd enjoy Zelda. I think the controls might be just a little too complicated. If he were a year older, I think it would be a good choice.

Kirby's Epic Yarn is fun, all age appropriate, allows 2 people to play simultaneously, cooperatively, and has an awesome art style and soundtrack.

Could also buy some Wii points for the virtual console and go classic and get games like the original zelda/mario/kirby/donkey kong games.

Here's a link to an older thread where I mentioned some Wii games for a 7-year old girl.

I would look for a game that has a good game guide available, and give the game and the guide together as a gift. If there's a part that he's stuck on, then his parents can help him read the guide, and that's a good opportunity to work on reading skills.

Since he likes tball, Mario baseball would be a great choice

Thank you all for the suggestions. I'm going to take them and do a little research to see which one(s) I think he'd like best.

I'm late to the party, but my nephews love Club Penguin Game Day published by Disney.
